A laundry treating appliance includes a treating chamber provided for receiving laundry for treatment, a controller having a memory in which is stored a set of executable instructions including a set of cycles of operations. The laundry treating appliance also includes a user interface operably coupled with the controller and having a touchscreen configured to provide an input and output function for the controller.
Laundry apparatuses having dynamic balancing assemblies
A laundry apparatus includes a tub, a drum, a control unit, a motor, and a dynamic balancing assembly. The drum is positioned within a fluid containment envelope of the tub and rotatable relative to the tub about a primary rotation axis. The motor is coupled to the tub and operatively coupled to the drum to cause rotation of the drum. The dynamic balancing assembly includes an orbital balancing passage arranged concentrically around the motor, a first counterweight device, and a second counterweight device. The first and second counterweight devices are positioned within the orbital balancing passage and are responsive to the control unit to move the first and second counterweight devices along the orbital balancing passage to adjust an angular position of the first and second counterweight devices. A cross-sectional plane passes through the dynamic balancing assembly, the motor, and the fluid containment envelope of the tub.
Control method of laundry treating apparatus
A control method of a laundry treating apparatus includes rotating a drum at a reference rotational speed that is lower or higher than a resonance rotational speed of the laundry treating apparatus; measuring the maximum displacements of tub front and rear surfaces and a phase difference between the maximum displacements during the rotation of the drum at the reference rotational speed; determining a front unbalance (UB) mass located in a drum front area, a rear UB mass located in a drum rear area, and an angle between the UB masses based on the maximum displacements and the phase difference; and accelerating a drum rotational speed to a target rotational speed that is higher than the reference rotational speed and the resonance rotational speed, when the front and rear UB masses are in a preset allowable mass range and an angle between the UB masses is in an allowable angle range.
CLOTHES-HANDLING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING CLOTHES-HANDLING APPARATUS
Provided is a control method for a laundry treating apparatus comprising: a drum in which laundry is stored; at least three balancers fixed to the drum and provided to be spaced from each other at the same angle with respect to the rotational center of the drum; front spaces provided in each balancer and positioned at the front of the drum; and rear spaces provided in each balancer and positioned at the rear of the drum, wherein the control method for the laundry treating apparatus comprises: a rear control step of supplying a liquid to at least one of the rear spaces so as to increase the weight of a quadrant (first target quadrant) positioned in the direction opposite to a quadrant, of a circumferential surface of the drum, to which a force causing unbalance is directed; and a front control step of supplying a liquid to at least one of the front spaces so as to increase the weight of a quadrant (second target quadrant) positioned in the direction opposite to the quadrant, of the circumferential surface of the drum, to which the force causing unbalance is directed.
Balancer and washing machine having the same
A balancer includes a balancer housing having an annular channel defined therein, at least one mass movably disposed in the channel, and at least one magnet coupled to one side of the balancer housing to restrain movement of the mass along the channel when rotational speed of a drum of the washing machine is within a predetermined range. The magnet includes a plurality of unit magnets arranged in a circumferential direction of the balancer housing.
Balancer and washing machine having the same
A washing machine includes a cabinet, a drum rotatably arranged within the cabinet, an annular recess provided in the drum, and a balancer to offset an unbalanced load caused within the drum during rotation of the drum. The balancer includes a balancer housing mounted to the recess and has an annular channel therein, at least one mass movably disposed in the channel, and at least one ball disposed between the balancer housing and the mass to generate rolling motion.
Laundry treating appliance with dynamic balancer
A dynamic balancer device for mounting to and balancing a rotatable drum in a laundry treating appliance comprises an enclosed non-metal annular housing having a radial circumferential wall, an annular metal race within the non-metal annular housing disposed against the radial circumferential wall, and a mass disposed in the annular race and movable therein.
Washing machine having balancer and method for controlling the same
A washing machine having a balancer and a control method thereof which achieve correct communication between a controller and a balancing module such that a balancing module is correctly shifted to a target position. The control method of the washing machine includes measuring a first time between position detection time points of the balancing modules during rotation of the rotary tub when the plurality of balancing modules is in a static mode, measuring a second time between position detection time points of the balancing modules during rotation of the rotary tub when any one of the balancing modules is shifted by a predetermined distance through a movement command, and confirming a relationship between a module ID of any one of the balancing modules and a communication ID of the movement command through a relative variation of the second time with respect to the first time.
WASHING APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD FOR THE SAME
A washing apparatus and control method where the washing apparatus comprises a door configured to open and close the entrance; a tub inside a main body and having an opening corresponding to an entrance to the main body; a diaphragm configured to connect the entrance with the opening; a drum rotatably provided inside the tub; a door washing nozzle provided on the diaphragm to inject washing water to the door. The door washing nozzle is controlled to inject the washing water for a first time in a first section and inject the washing water for a second time in a second section when a washing mode of the diaphragm including the first section at which the drum in a stopped state arrives at a first target rotation speed and the second section at which the drum rotated at the first target rotation speed arrives at a second target rotation speed.
