FOAM COMPOSITIONS, AEROSOL PRODUCTS, AND METHODS OF USING THE SAME TO IMPROVE SENSORY BENEFITS TO THE SKIN

A liquid foamable composition that has from about 0.5% to about 7%, by weight, of surfactants that are cationic surfactants, nonionic surfactants, and mixtures thereof. The foamable composition contains from about 1% to about 15%, by weight, of a fatty alcohol, from about 5% to about 30%, by weight, of a skin care active, and water. The skin care active is preferably selected from the group consisting of niacinamide, hexyldecanol, a peptide, panthenol, undeylenoyl phenylalanine, retinyl propionate and mixtures thereof.

Compositions having low sulfate containing surfactants

The invention relates to lamellar liquid composition comprising acyl isethionate, methyl acyl taurate, amphoteric and/or zwitterionic surfactant. Unexpectedly, applicants have found that, when ratio of isethionate to taurate is kept at about to 1:1, enhanced lather is achieved. Other criticalities include ratio of amphoteric and/or zwitterionic to anionic surfactant, total amount of surfactant, and pH.

LIPID DEPOT FORMULATIONS

The present invention relates to pre-formulations comprising low viscosity, non-liquid crystalline, mixtures of: a) at least one neutral diacyl lipid and/or at least one tocopherol; b) at least one phospholipid; c) at least one biocompatible, oxygen containing, low viscosity organic solvent; wherein at least one bioactive agent is dissolved or dispersed in the low viscosity mixture and wherein the pre-formulation forms, or is capable of forming, at least one liquid crystalline phase structure upon contact with an aqueous fluid. The preformulations are suitable for generating parenteral, non-parenteral and topical depot compositions for sustained release of active agents.

The invention additionally relates to a method of delivery of an active agent comprising administration of a preformulation of the invention, a method of treatment comprising administration of a preformulation of the invention and the use of a preformulation of the invention in a method for the manufacture of a medicament.

The present disclosure relates to a lyotropic liquid crystalline lipid carrier which is useful for the delivery of active agents. The present disclosure also relates to cosmetic or pharmaceutical compositions comprising the lipid carrier, and methods of using the lipid carrier or compositions thereof to treat, prevent or diagnose diseases, disorders or conditions such as cancer or bacterial or fungal infections.

Hair conditioning composition

This invention relates to hair care compositions containing a branched organopolysiloxane, oil in water emulsion. Despite the prior art, there still exists the opportunity to increase the benefits delivered through conditioning hair care compositions. A particular need exists for hair care compositions which can deliver enhanced silicone deposition, especially to the damaged parts of the hair. It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a hair care composition which can deliver enhanced silicone deposition onto the hair, in particular damaged hair. It has been found that this can be achieved by a hair care composition comprising a conditioning gel phase with an aqueous emulsion of a branched organopolysiloxane comprising an aqueous continuous phase of water and a cationic surfactant or a blend of non-ionic and cationic surfactants and a dispersed phase of the branched organopolysiloxane and a hydrocarbon oil, and the aqueous emulsion having a particle size of 5 to less than 12 microns Dv(50).
