The amount of the lubricant (A) ranges from 50 to 90 wt %, the amount of the ester (B) ranges from 1 to 20 wt % and the amount of the sulfur-containing ester (A3) ranges from 5 to 20 wt %, to a nonvolatile component of the finish.
Carbon fiber sizing agent, aqueous dispersion thereof, carbon fiber bundle applied with sizing agent, sheet-like article comprising carbon fiber bundle, and carbon fiber reinforced composite material
The present invention provides: a carbon fiber sizing agent that can obtain a carbon fiber bundle having a superior effect of improving mechanical properties when composited using a resin; an aqueous dispersion thereof; a carbon fiber bundle; a sheet-shaped article having a carbon fiber bundle; and a composite material. The carbon fiber sizing agent contains: a compound (A) that is an ester of an unsaturated monobasic acid and an epoxy compound having a plurality of epoxy groups in the molecule, and that has at least one epoxy group in the molecule; a urethane acrylate oligomer (B) that is bifunctional and that has a tensile elongation rate of the cured product of at least 40%; and a polyurethane resin (C) having a tensile elongation rate of a dried coating film of 350-900% inclusive. The amounts of A-C contained satisfy the conditions described in the description. The aqueous dispersion disperses the sizing agent. The carbon fiber bundle contains 0.6-3.0 mass % inclusive of the sizing agent. The sheet-shaped article and a pultruded composite material contain the carbon fiber bundle. The composite material contains the sheet-shaped article.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING CARBON FIBER AND CARBON FIBER PRODUCED USING SAME
The present invention is a method for producing carbon fiber, characterized by using a carbon-fiber precursor produced from a polymer having a narrow molecular weight distribution and by applying only a small amount of a smoothing agent, composed of a specific component, to the carbon fiber surface immediately before winding of carbon fiber. According to the present invention, it is possible to stably produce carbon fiber, which has excellent dispersibility and do not deteriorate in quality and quality even when a sizing agent is not attached to the carbon fiber surface. In addition, the produced carbon fiber is suitable for use in a composite material which is produced by high-temperature processing using a thermoplastic resin.
WATER SOLUBLE FIBERS WITH POST PROCESS MODIFICATIONS AND ARTICLES CONTAINING SAME
Methods of treating fibers comprising a polymer including at least one of a vinyl acetate moiety or a vinyl alcohol moiety, and resulting fibers or the products comprising the resulting fibers are disclosed. In an example embodiment, a fiber having a surface region and an interior region, includes a polymer comprising at least one of a vinyl acetate moiety or a vinyl alcohol moiety chemically modified with a modification agent. The fiber has a transverse cross-section including the interior region comprising the polymer having a first degree of modification and the surface region comprising the polymer having a second degree of modification greater than the first degree of modification.
UV Resistant Fabrics and Treatment Methods
UV protective fabrics and methods of making UV protective fabrics having ferulic acid and/or ferulic acid derivatives such as ethyl ferulate, including soaking the fabric in an aqueous solution of ferulic acid and/or a ferulic acid derivative, removing the fabric from the aqueous solution, and drying the soaked fabric. The aqueous solution may optionally include one or more surfactants. The ferulic acid and/or ferulic acid derivatives may provide UVA protection such as a UVA transmission of less than 5% and improved UPF such as a UPF of 50 or more, including fabrics which may have a dye, without changing the color of the fabric.
SUN PROTECTION COMPOSITION AND APPLICATION THE SAME
Provided is a sun protection composition including a UV absorber and a plurality of porous titanium dioxide microspheres. The UV absorber absorbs light of at least one of UVA radiation and UVB radiation. The particle size of the porous titanium dioxide microspheres is 100 nm to 300 nm, and the porous titanium dioxide microspheres can scatter light in a wavelength range between 200 nm and 400 nm. A cosmetic and a fabric containing the sun protection composition can also scatter light in a wavelength range between 200 nm and 400 nm, such that the UV protection capability of the cosmetic and the fabric is enhanced.
FIBER-TREATING AGENT
A fiber-treating agent which improves the water resistance and the heat resistance, imparts heat shape memory ability, and also improves the stretchability and the feel of the surface of a fiber. The fiber-treating agent is a one-part type fiber-treating agent formed of a single composition or a multiple-part type fiber-treating agent formed of a plurality of compositions and comprises the following components (A) to (C) in a total composition: (A): an aromatic compound having one or more vinyl groups or vinylidene groups, and a coordinating functional group; (B): a radical initiator; and (C): water.
TEXTILE ARTICLES FOR TUMBLE-DRYING
The present invention relates to a textile article comprising a pro-perfume compound that can be used for tumble drying. The present invention further relates to a method for the preparation of the textile article, and the use of the textile article for improving, enhancing, conferring and/or modifying the fragrance impression and/or fragrance intensity of a garment during tumble-drying.
