The present disclosure relates to stable cosmetic compositions that include high levels of free glycolic acid. The cosmetic compositions typically include: glycolic acid and/or a salt thereof; at least one non-silicone fatty compound; at least one emulsifier; at least one water-soluble solvent; at least one silicone; and water. The cosmetic compositions are in the form of an emulsion, in particular, a water-in-oil emulsion, and typically have a low pH of below 7. Also, the cosmetic compositions have high amount of free glycolic acid, for example, at least 6 wt. % of free glycolic acid, based on the total weight of the cosmetic composition. The cosmetic compositions are particularly useful for improving the appearance of skin. Accordingly, the instant disclosure relates to methods of treating skin, for example, improving the appearance of skin using the cosmetic compositions.

The cosmetic cleansing composition includes up to about 90% by weight, based on a total weight of the cosmetic cleansing composition, of alkali metal salts of fatty acids (soaps), from about 1 to about 40% by weight, based on a total weight of the cosmetic cleansing composition, of amino acid surfactant(s), and from about 0.05 to about 10% by weight, based on a total weight of the cosmetic cleansing composition, of citric acid ester and/or salt(s) of citric acid.

At least one of the bristles is made of a thermoplastic elastomer having a hardness in a range of 32 shore D to 38 shore D. Also disclosed is a method of applying a cosmetic compound. The method includes the step of depositing the cosmetic compound on an applicator, wherein the composition includes a wax emulsion and a polymer. The applicator includes a plurality of bristles, and at least one of the bristles is formed from a thermoplastic elastomer having a hardness in a range of 32 shore D to 38 shore D. The method further includes the step of brushing the applicator against a keratin fiber to transfer the cosmetic compound from the applicator to the keratin fiber.

The present disclosure relates to compositions for altering the tone or color of the hair comprising at least one amino acid, at least one carboxylic acid, monoethanolamine, at least one oxidation base chosen from toluene-2,5-diamine, acid salts thereof, or solvates thereof, and a coupler system comprising one or more couplers chosen from 2,4-diaminophenoxyethanol, meta-aminophenol, derivatives thereof, addition salts thereof, solvates thereof, solvates of salts thereof, or mixtures thereof. Bleaching agents with improved resistance to oil separation and better miscibility with dye-containing formulations comprise—in relation to their weight—from about 0.015 to about 10 wt.-% ethylene octene copolymer(s), from about 5 to about 70 wt.-% oil component(s), from about 1 to about 70 wt.-% peroxydisulfate(s) chosen from the group of sodium peroxodisulfate and/or potassium peroxodisulfate and/or ammonium peroxodisulfate, and ≦1 wt.-% free water.
