WATER AND OIL REPELLENT AND TEXTILE PRODUCT

A water- and oil-repellent agent including: (a) a fluorine-containing monomer represented by the general formula CH.sub.2C(X)C(O)YZRf [where X is a hydrogen atom, a monovalent organic group, or a halogen atom, Y is O or13 NH, Z is a direct bond or a divalent organic group, and Rf is a fluoroalkyl group having 1-20 carbon atoms]; and (b) a fluorine-containing copolymer containing a repeating unit derived from nonyl(meth)acrylate. Also disclosed is a textile product including a fibrous substrate treated with the water- and oil-repellent agent.

NON-FLUORINATED BLOCK COPOLYMER

A non-fluorinated block copolymer including at least one block segment (A), wherein the block segment (A) includes a repeating unit formed from one or more types of acrylic monomers having a long-chain hydrocarbon group containing 7-40 carbon atoms. The non-fluorinated block copolymer preferably contains a segment (B) constituted by at least one of: (B1) a block segment including a repeating unit, different from that of segment (A), that is formed from an acrylic monomer having a long-chain hydrocarbon group comprising 7-40 carbon atoms; (B2) a block segment including a repeating unit formed from an acrylic monomer not having a long-chain hydrocarbon group; and (B3) a random segment formed from at least two types of acrylic monomers.

Textile Care Product Having An Optionally Cross-Linked Copolymer And Method For Finishing Textiles

The present invention relates to a textile care product containing a copolymer having N-isopropylacrylamide units, methacrylic acid units and optionally at least one cross-linking agent. The copolymer is used as a soil-release active ingredient, reduces or prevents re-soiling and improves the removal of soiling.
