Pretreatment liquid, pretreated fabric and method for producing the same, and image forming method
The pretreatment liquid of the present invention is applicable for a fabric to be used for inkjet textile printing, and the pretreatment liquid contains a block copolymer including a hydrophobic block derived from a hydrophobic resin having an SP value of less than 11 and a hydrophilic block derived from a hydrophilic resin having an SP value of 11 or more, with the difference between the SP values of the hydrophobic resin and the hydrophilic resin of 1.0 or more; and water.
Fabric having tobacco entangled with structural fibers
A smokeless tobacco product includes smokeless tobacco and structural fibers. The structural fibers forming a network in which the smokeless tobacco is entangled. The structural fibers have a composition different from the smokeless tobacco. The tobacco-entangled fabric can have an overall oven volatiles content of at least 10 weight percent. In some embodiments, the structural fibers form a nonwoven network. In some embodiments, fibrous structures of the smokeless tobacco are entangled with the structural fibers.
SELF-STERILIZING FABRICS INCORPORATING ANTI-VIRAL COLD-ACTIVE PROTEASES
The invention provides fabrics that incorporate a cold-adapted trypsin derived from a fish or a crustacean, which trypsin inactivates viruses. The fabrics of the invention may be used in the production of various items of self-sterilizing protective equipment including gowns, sheets, curtains, surgical hats, surgical booties and protective facemasks.
COMPOSTABLE LID FOR SEALING A BEVERAGE CAPSULE OR A BEVERAGE PAD AND CAPSULES AND PADS SEALED THEREWITH
This invention relates a compostable lid for sealing a beverage capsule or a beverage pad wherein the lid comprises a natural-fiber based support obtainable by: (i) providing a first fibrous base sheet comprising natural fiber material sensitive to a gelatinizing agent; (ii) treating the first base sheet with a gelatinizing agent to give a treated first fibrous base sheet comprising gelatinized material; (iii) providing a second fibrous base sheet; (iv) contacting the treated first fibrous base sheet and the second base sheet with each other; (v) causing at least partial migration of the gelatinized material from the treated first fibrous base sheet into the second fibrous base sheet to give a multilayer product; and (vi) neutralizing and/or washing the product thus obtained and then drying it.
Preparation and characterization of organic conductive threads as non-metallic electrodes and interconnects
This patent document discloses a method of fabricating an electrically conductive fiber coated with polythiophene and a carbon material. The low-cost method is amenable to modifications to suit the practical needs in various applications.
LAUNDERABLE ACTIVATED COTTON
An activated cotton material and a method for processing cotton to form the activated cotton material are provided. The activated cotton material includes a layer of natural wax that is locked to the surface of cotton fibers by a wax lock.
Method for producing carboxymethylated cellulose and carboxymethylated cellulose nanofibers
The present invention provides a novel method for producing carboxymethylated cellulose, the method making it possible to economically obtain a high-transparency cellulose nanofiber dispersion. In the carboxymethylation of cellulose, mercerization is carried out in a solvent comprising mainly water, and then carboxymethylation is carried out in a mixed solvent of water and an organic solvent. A nanofiber dispersion of high-transparency carboxymethylated cellulose can be obtained by defibrating the resulting carboxymethylated cellulose.
Silk performance apparel and products and methods of preparing the same
Silk infused performance apparel and methods of preparing the same are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, silk performance apparel includes textiles, fabrics, consumer products, leather, and other materials that are coated with aqueous solutions of pure silk fibroin-based protein fragments. In some embodiments, coated apparel products, textiles, and upholstery, as well as other materials, exhibit surprisingly improved moisture management properties, resistance to microbial growth, increased abrasion resistance, and flame resistance.
COATING OF TEXTILE MATERIALS
The present invention comprises the coating and modification of textile materials in order to provide them with water-repellent properties. The object of the invention was to hydrophobize textiles loaded with metal oxide, wherein the hydrophobing agent presented here is non-toxic and environmentally friendly, adhering to the metal oxide surface considerably more stably and without the use of additional dispersants and binders, which also takes environmental aspects into account. The object is achieved by the use according to the invention of metal oxide particles and/or metal hydroxide particles of group IVB, IIB or IIIA or mixtures thereof, wherein said particles are present in a size range of 110 nm-10 μm, for the coating of textile materials and their treatment after application to the textile with phosphoric or phosphonic acid ester derivatives of the general form OP(OH).sub.2OR or OP(OH).sub.2R, wherein R is a hydrophobic residue in the form of aliphatic, branched or unbranched, alicyclic or aromatic hydrocarbon groups having 5-40 carbon atoms.
Polymer Complex
The present disclosure relates to a polymer complex containing microcellulose fibers comprising nanofibrils and fine particles: and a polymer matrix comprising a polyester resin. According to the present disclosure, there is provided a polymer complex capable of exhibiting excellent mechanical properties while being environmentally friendly by including cellulose fibers as a reinforcing material.
