Floor Mat Having Reduced Tuft Profile

This invention relates to a floor mat having reduced tuft profile on the backside of the textile component of the floor mat. The floor mat is comprised of a textile component and a base component. The textile component includes face yarn tufted through a primary backing layer. The reduced tuft profile is present on the backside of the textile component. Advantages of a floor mat with reduced tuft profile include improved uniformity of the secondary backing layer applied to the textile component and improved durability of the textile component.

Embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to coated substrates having, e.g., anti-viral properties, to articles including the coated substrates, and to processes for making such coated substrates and articles. In an embodiment, a mask for preventing infection by a virus is provided. The mask includes a coated substrate having a breathing resistance (95 L/min, EN 149:2001) of about 6 mbar or less and a water droplet absorption time of less than about 5 seconds. The coated substrate includes a non-woven fabric having a weight of about 120 g/m.sup.2 or less according to ASTM D3776, and mineral oxide particles, iron oxide particles, or both, coupled to at least a portion of the non-woven fabric.

The polyurethane resin applied portion is a region in which a polyurethane resin which is applied is present, and the polyurethane resin permeates between the fibers at least in a surface portion of the fabric such that a surface of the fabric is formed by the polyurethane resin and the fibers. In the polyurethane resin applied portion, an application depth of the polyurethane resin is 50 to 200 μm, a filling ratio of the polyurethane resin is 15% to 45%, and a filling ratio of the fibers of the fabric is 50% to 80%.
