C-REL-SPECIFIC SIRNA AND ITS USE FOR PREVENTING AND TREATING AUTOIMMUNE PSORIASIS
The present invention provides a c-Rel-specific siRNA and its use for preventing and treating autoimmune psoriasis. In particular, the c-Rel-specific siRNAs have sequences as shown in SEQ ID Nos. 1-2 or SEQ ID Nos. 3-4. In the present invention, small interfering RNA (siRel) specific to c-Rel are employed to inhibit c-Rel biosynthesis, and prevent and treat autoimmune psoriasis by inhibiting inflammatory factors relating to IL-23/IL-17A inflammatory axis.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TREATING VITILIGO
The present invention generally relates to systems and methods for treating vitiligo. In one set of embodiments, the present invention comprises a composition comprising pyruvic acid and/or a pyruvate salt. The composition may be formulated for application to the skin of a subject, for instance, as a gel, lotion, cream, ointment, soap, or stick. In some cases, the composition may comprise a lecithin, such as phosphatidylcholine. In certain embodiments, the lecithin is present as a liquid crystal, and/or in liposomes, micelles, or other vesicles. Other aspects of the present invention are generally directed to methods of making or using such compositions, methods of promoting such compositions, kits including such compositions, or the like.
TOPICAL GLYCOPYRROLATE FORMULATIONS
Individually packaged topical formulations comprising about 0.25 to about 6% w/w of glycopyrrolate for the treatment of hyperhidrosis, wherein said wipe is contained within a pouch resistant to leakage. The formulations may further comprise ethanol, a buffering agent and water. In addition, the formulations may further comprise a polymer system comprising a hydrophobic polymer in combination with a hydrophilic polymer.
WOUND HEALING
The invention relates to methods and compositions for improving wound healing and in particular for preventing scar formation and thus loss of function that can occur in injured tissues during the natural wound healing process. Particularly, although by no means exclusively, the invention relates to the healing of chronic wounds such as diabetic ulcers.
USE OF TWO BOTANICALS WITH COMPLEMENTARY ACTIVITIES FOR IMPROVEMENT OF SKIN
A skin augmentation composition comprises a therapeutically effective amount of a combination of a gingerol and a curcumin and a cosmetically or pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. Methods for enhancing the repair of damaged skin and the prevention of developing wounds in a subject having damaged skin comprises administering to a portion of damaged skin, a composition comprising a therapeutically effective amount of a combination of a gingerol and a curcumin and a cosmetically or pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
PTEROSTILBENE (PTER) FOR USE IN THE PREVENTION AND/OR TREATMENT OF SKIN DISEASES, DAMAGES OR INJURIES
The present invention refers to the use of PTER, or any acceptable salt thereof, optionally in combination with QUER, or any acceptable salt thereof, for the manufacture of pharmaceutical compositions for preventing and/or treating skin diseases, damages or injuries. Those methods of prevention and/or treatment comprise the administration of an effective amount of a composition comprising PTER as active compound, or any acceptable salt thereof, optionally in combination with QUER, or any acceptable salt thereof, to the subject. The present invention also refers to the compositions, per se, comprising PTER as active compound, or any acceptable salt thereof, optionally in combination with QUER, or any acceptable slat thereof, characterized by being formulated in the form of liposomes, and to the method for preparing said liposome formulations.
METHODS OF MAKING AND USING COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING FLAVONOIDS
The subject invention relates to novel micoparticulate and soluble forms of flavonoids, and their synthesis. The invention also includes novel formulations of such flavonoids. Further, the invention includes novel methods of manufacturing the flavonoid formulations. The invention also relates to a wide variety of applications of the flavonoid formulations.
TILAPIA LAKE VIRUS VACCINES
The present invention relates to vaccine compositions comprising attenuated strain of Tilapia Lake Virus (TiLV) for protecting tilapia fish against infection by (TiLV). The invention also relates to methods for using the vaccines to protect tilapines from TiLV-induced disease.
PEROXIDE FORMULATIONS AND METHODS AND APPLICATORS FOR USING THE SAME
Embodiments are directed to a stable composition comprising stabilized hydrogen peroxide and 2-propanol and applicators configured to store, dispense, and apply such stable compositions. Such compositions may be used to treat skin conditions such as warts, condyloma accuminatum, molluscum contagiosum, acrochordons, seborrheic keratosis, or a combination thereof. Some embodiments also describe take home compositions, in office compositions, over-the-counter compositions, and kits for the use of such compositions.
IMPROVED PATHOGEN INHIBITOR
A formulation of a pathogen inhibitor or probiotic as a slurry concentrate of a hydrated metal oxide for applications in agriculture, aquaculture, and as an anti antibiotic in which the bioactivity, when applied by dilution, is controlled by a precursor of Reactive Oxygen Species, and the release rate is controlled by the particle size. The invention may include a means whereby the precursor concentration may be controlled to meet the requirements of the ecosystem, from the maintenance of an aerobic system, to killing pathogenic, anaerobic microbes, or producing sterile ecosystems. In addition, the metal oxide may be selected to provide essential nutrients for growth of the agricultural or aquacultural products.
