SOL-GEL COMPOSITIONS FOR VETERINARY USE
The present disclosure relates to a composition comprising: (a) about 5.0% w/w to about 40.0% w/w of a polyvinyl caprolactam-polyvinyl acetate-polyethylene glycol graft copolymer, and (b) about 0.25% w/w to about 5.00% w/w of a viscosity modifier, and to a method of manufacturing the composition. The present disclosure also relates to the uses of the composition and methods for preventing or treating mastitis.
FOAM-FORMING COMPOSITIONS FOR DELIVERING AN ACTIVE TO A BODY CAVITY
Provided is a foam-forming formulation and method of administrating a medically active or cosmetic or reliving compound to the skin, to a would or to a body cavity. The foam-forming formulation contains monoglyceride crystals, a hydrophilic blowing agent in an amount to blow the foam-forming composition and form a foam, water, and a medical, cosmetic or reliving compound. The foam-forming composition is suitable application to skin, wounds and body cavities when blown to form the foam and the foam melts at a body temperature to release the content. Also provided is a foam-forming composition vehicle for delivering an active agent.
A TEAT SEAL FORMULATION
A seal formulation for forming a physical barrier in the teat canal of a non-human animal for prophylactically controlling infection of a mammary gland by a mastitis-causing organism comprises a polymer in a gel base wherein the polymer is a lower alkyl vinyl ether-maleic anhydride copolymer or a salt derivative thereof. The lower alkyl vinyl ether-maleic anhydride copolymer salt derivative may comprise at least one cationic ion including monovalent, bivalent or trivalent cations and mixtures thereof.
VETERINARY COMPOSITIONS FOR USE IN TREATING MASTITIS, AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
The present disclosure relates generally to sol-gel polymer composites that comprise chitosan, a hydrophilic polymer, a polysiloxane, and a gelation agent in a suitable medium. Advantageously, the sol-gel polymer composite can form a durable seal or strong solid in response to one or more physiological stimulus. The disclosure further relates to medical and veterinary uses of the composite, particularly, methods and delivery systems for reducing or preventing the incidence of a mammary disorder in a dairy animal. More particularly, the disclosure includes methods and sol-gel polymer composite compositions for creating a physical barrier on the teat surface or in the teat canal or cistern of a non-human animal for prophylactic treatment of mammary disorders such as mastitis wherein the sol-gel polymer creates a seal in response to one or more physiological stimulus.
TREATMENT OF SEXUAL DYSFUNCTION
Compositions and methods for treating sexual dysfunction and enhancing sexual satisfaction using topical application of a therapeutic agent such as an alpha-1 adrenergic receptor agonist to the nipple-areola complex are disclosed.
LACTIC ACID BACTERIA AND THEIR USE FOR THE TREATMENT OF MASTITIS
The present invention relates to novel Lactic Acid Bacteria strains Lactobacillus reuteri selected from the group comprising Lactobacillus reuteri DSM 32229, Lactobacillus reuteri DSM 32230, Lactobacillus reuteri DSM 32231 and Lactobacillus reuteri DSM 32232 and products comprising these strains. The present invention also relates to a use of one or more Lactic Acid Bacteria strains as a probiotic for the treatment of an inflammation and infection, such as mastitis and/or thrush, especially after topical administration of said strains.
Sol-gel polymer composites and uses thereof
The present disclosure relates generally to sol-gel polymer composites that comprise chitosan, a hydrophilic polymer, a gelation agent, and optional additional ingredients in a suitable medium.
INTRA-MAMMARY TEAT SEALANT FORMULATION AND METHOD OF USING SAME TO REDUCE OR ELIMINATE VISUAL DEFECTS IN AGED CHEESES
Described is an intra-mammary teat sealant and a corresponding method of forming a physical barrier in the teat canal of a non-human animal for prophylactic treatment of mammary disorders during the animal's dry period. The method includes the step of infusing a teat seal formulation including a metal salt in a glyceride-containing gel base into the teat canal of the animal. The method also prevents the formation of black spot defect in dairy products, especially cheddar cheese, made from the milk of animals so treated.
TRANSPAPILLARY METHODS AND COMPOSITIONS FOR TREATING BREAST DISORDERS
Methods and treatments are taught for the treatment of breast disorders, including proliferative breast disease, breast cancer, and increased breast density. The methods and compositions deliver efficacious formulations of chemical and/or biological treatment medicaments to the breast via a transpapillary route.
