Elevator tension member
A belt for suspending and/or driving an elevator car includes a tension member extending along a length of the belt, the tension member including a plurality of fibers bonded in a first polymer matrix, the plurality of fibers extending parallel to and discontinuous along a length of the belt and arranged with one or more lengthwise extending gaps between lengthwise adjacent fibers. A jacket substantially retains the tension member. A method of forming a tension member for an elevator system belt includes arranging a plurality of fibers into a fiber bundle. The plurality of fibers extend parallel to a length of the belt and have one or more lengthwise extending gaps between lengthwise extending fibers. The plurality of fibers is bonded to a first polymer matrix.
Method of and Device for Manufacturing Rubber Coated Twisted Wire Cord
In a method of manufacturing a rubber coated twisted wire cord, when an outer circumferential surface of a twisted wire cord that is moving from an unreeling unit to a winding unit is coated with unvulcanized rubber extruded by a rubber extruder, by a coating unit disposed between the unreeling unit and a winding unit, in a state of additional tension being imparted on the moving twisted wire cord by a tension imparting unit disposed at a nearby position on an upstream side from the coating unit in a moving direction of the twisted wire cord, the unvulcanized rubber coats the outer circumferential surface of the twisted wire cord in this state to continuously manufacture a rubber coated twisted wire cord.
Method for producing a tension member, tension member, and use thereof
The invention relates to a method for filling in a tension member in particular for conveyor belts, in particular a tension member which is configured as a steel cable. The method is intended to allow the full penetration of the tension member structure. Here, the method contains at least the following method steps: introducing the individual wires (2, 2, 2, 2, 2) of the strand (5) into the stranding head (1) of a stranding machine (10) andpartially or fully applying at least one coating agent to at least 50% of the individual wires (2, 2, 2, 2, 2) of the strand (5) prior to the twisting of the individual wires (2, 2, 2, 2, 2) to form a strand (5) or simultaneously with the twisting of the individual wires (2, 2, 2, 2, 2) to form a strand (5) andtwisting the individual wires (2, 2, 2, 2, 2) to form a strand (5), wherein at least 50% of the individual wires (2, 2, 2, 2, 2) have been provided with at least one coating agent, andmaking a cable from at least one strand (5).
PULL WIRE WITH COATED FIBERS
A method is provided for making a fiber wire having a fiber bundle core and a polymer jacket. The method includes rotating a spool of fiber bundle about a first rotational axis to progressively unwind the fiber bundle from the spool. The fiber bundle includes a plurality of continuous synthetic fiber filaments. While the spool is rotated about the first rotational axis, the spool is simultaneously rotated about a second rotational axis to thereby twist the unwound fiber bundle about its longitudinal axis. The method further includes coating the twisted fiber bundle with a molten polymer, and permitting the molten polymer to cool to define a flexible outer jacket that encapsulates the twisted fiber bundle.
Method for manufacturing a hoisting rope, hoisting rope and elevator using the same
The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a hoisting rope, comprising the steps of providing a plurality of elongated composite members, which composite members are made of composite material comprising reinforcing fibers in polymer matrix; and arranging the composite members to form an elongated row of parallel composite members, which row has a longitudingal direction, a thickness direction and a width direction, and in which row the composite members are positioned side by side such that they are parallel to each other, and spaced apart from each other in width direction of the row; and directing plasma treatment on the outer surface of the composite members; and embedding the composite members in fluid polymer material; and solidifying the polymer material wherein the composite members are embedded. The invention relates also to a hoisting rope obtained with the method and an elevator comprising the hoisting rope.
BELT WITH CORRUGATED MATERIAL
An elevator system includes a hoistway, an elevator car movable along the hoistway, and one or more belts operably connected to the elevator car to propel the elevator car along the hoistway. A belt of the one or more belts includes one or more tension elements extending along a belt length, and a jacket at least partially encapsulating the one or more tension elements. The jacket includes a jacket base formed from a first material and one or more insert layers embedded in the jacket base material. The one or more insert layers have a corrugated shape along the belt length, and are formed from a second material different from the first material.
"Apparatus and Method for Making Composite Elevator Belt"
A pultrusion method for making a composite elevator belt includes pulling at least one load carrier strand coated with a core layer into a pultrusion die including a plurality of molding teeth and intervening spaces between the molding teeth having a profile shaped to form a desired profile of belt teeth on the core layer. The method further includes filling the intervening spaces between the molding teeth of the rotating die with resin, depositing the resin on the core layer, forming a plurality of the belt teeth on the core layer using the rotating die, pulling the core layer with formed belt teeth into a jacket extruder, and forming a jacket layer on the core layer with the formed belt teeth to complete the composite elevator belt.
LOAD BEARING TRACTION MEMBER AND METHOD
A method is disclosed of making a load-bearing traction member. According to the method, a composition including a thermoplastic polyurethane and a blocked isocyanate compound is heated to a fluid state and applied to at least one tension member, and solidified to form a polymer jacket around at least one tension member.
METHOD OF TREATING TYRE REINFORCING PLY CORDS
A method for making rubber portions comprising tyre metallic reinforcing plies. This method comprises an incorporation step wherein metallic cords which constitute the plies are arranged between two skim layers and a treatment step for the metallic cords, that precedes the incorporation step and wherein the metallic cords are wetted with a diene elastomeric polymer with a viscosity of between 3 and 10 Pa.Math.s at room temperature.
Fire resistant coated steel belt
A belt for suspending and/or driving an elevator car of an elevator system includes a plurality of tension members arranged in a lengthwise direction and a jacket substantially retaining the plurality of tension members. The jacket includes a traction portion, a back portion, and an inner portion between the traction portion and the back portion. The traction portion is formed from a first material and the inner portion is formed from a second material having an increased fire resistance compared to the first material. A method of forming an elevator system belt includes arranging a plurality of tension members in a lengthwise direction and securing the plurality of tension members in a jacket by at least partially enclosing the plurality of tension members in the jacket. The jacket includes a traction portion, a back portion, and an inner portion having a greater fire resistance than the traction portion.
