Cable, Strand, and Method and Device for Producing a Cable and a Strand
The invention relates to a laid cable (1-1b), in particular a laid fiber cable (1-1b) or a laid hybrid cable, comprising at least one core strand or a laid core cable (2-2b) and at least one outer strand (7-7b) surrounding the core strand or the core cable (2-2b), the core strand, the core cable (2-2b) and/or the at least one outer strand is composed of at least one fiber line (9-9b, 10-10b). The at least one fiber line (9-9b, 10-10b) is beneficially made of a composite material having reinforcing fibers (12), the reinforcing fibers (12) of which composite material are laid to form at least one reinforcing line (11). Advantageously, a laid cable which is stable under transverse pressure is provided. The invention also relates to a strand, to a method for manufacturing a cable and a strand, to an apparatus for producing a cable and/or a strand, as well as an apparatus with a drum drive, said apparatus comprising a cable according to the invention.
ELEVATOR LOAD BEARING MEMBER INCLUDING A UNIDIRECTIONAL WEAVE
An illustrative example embodiment of an elevator load bearing member includes a unidirectional weave of a plurality of load bearing fibers including at least a first material and a second material. A melting point of the first material is higher than a melting point of the second material. The plurality of load bearing fibers are bonded together by at least some of the second material that is at least partially melted. A coating covers the plurality of load bearing fibers.
Composite elevator system tension member
A tension element of an elevator system tension member includes a plurality of first polymer fibers of a first material extending along a length of the tension element, and a plurality of second polymer fibers of a second material different from the first material. The plurality of second polymer fibers have a melting point lower than that of the plurality of first polymer fibers. The plurality of second polymer fibers are fused to the plurality of first polymer fibers to serve as a matrix for the plurality of first polymer fibers.
SYNTHETIC FIBER ROPE
A synthetic fiber rope comprising:a core, said core being a laid or braided synthetic fiber strand,a polymer layer, said polymer layer covering said core,a first layer, said first layer having at least six first synthetic fiber strands laid in a first direction surround said polymer layer, anda second layer, said second layer having at least twelve second synthetic fiber strands laid in a second direction surround said first layer.
High modulus textile cord with an at least triple twist
A high modulus textile cord (50) with at least triple twist (T1, T2, T3) comprises at least N strands (20a, 20b, 20c, 20d), N being greater than 1, twisted together with a final twist T3 and a final direction D2, each strand being made up of M pre-strands (10a, 10b, 10c), M being greater than 1, themselves twisted together with an intermediate twist T2 (T2a, T2b, T2c, T2d) and an intermediate direction D1 opposite to D2, each pre-strand itself consisting of a yarn (5) which has been twisted on itself beforehand with an initial twist T1 (T1a, T1b, T1c) and the direction D1, in which at least half of the N times M yarns have an initial elastic modulus denoted Mi which is greater than 2000 cN/tex. This textile cord can advantageously be used as a reinforcer in tires for vehicles, particularly in the belt or carcass reinforcement of these tires.
STRANDED WIRE
A stranded wire having a plurality of steel wires twisted together includes, in its cross section perpendicular to its longitudinal direction, a central wire as the steel wire, a plurality of first circumferential wires as the steel wires arranged in contact with the central wire to surround an outer periphery side of the central wire, and a plurality of second circumferential wires as the steel wires arranged in contact with the first circumferential wires to surround an outer periphery side of a region where the first circumferential wires are arranged, the second circumferential wires being greater in yield stress than the central wire and the first circumferential wires. The central wire is in surface contact with the first circumferential wires. The first circumferential wires are in surface contact with the second circumferential wires.
CORROSION RESISTANT CABLE
A cable includes a core with a plurality of first wires made of carbon steel and a plurality of strands surrounding the core. Each strand includes a plurality of second wires made of stainless steel. The cable has a maximum cross-sectional dimension less than 2 millimeters.
COMPOSITE TWISTED WIRE
A composite twisted wire (1) which is obtained by twisting a plurality of strands. This composite twisted wire (1) includes: an aluminum-covered strand (2) that is obtained by forming a coating film (2b), which is formed of aluminum or an aluminum alloy, on the surface of a steel wire (2a); and an aluminum wire (3) that is formed of aluminum or an aluminum alloy. This composite twisted wire is reduced in weight, while exhibiting excellent tensile strength and excellent long-term stability with respect to electrical resistance. Consequently, this composite twisted wire is suitable, for example, for use as a wire harness of automobiles.
Fluoropolymer fiber composite bundle
A fishing line having (a) multiple UHMWPE fibers and (b) at least one fluoropolymer fiber comprising expanded polytetrafluoroethylene. Also, a method of making a braided fishing line comprising the steps, in order, of forming a braided fiber by braiding UHMWPE fibers with expanded polytetrafluoroethylene fibers; heating the braided fiber; stretching the braided fiber while still heated; and cooling the stretched braided fiber.
