BELT WITH CORRUGATED MATERIAL
An elevator system includes a hoistway, an elevator car movable along the hoistway, and one or more belts operably connected to the elevator car to propel the elevator car along the hoistway. A belt of the one or more belts includes one or more tension elements extending along a belt length, and a jacket at least partially encapsulating the one or more tension elements. The jacket includes a jacket base formed from a first material and one or more insert layers embedded in the jacket base material. The one or more insert layers have a corrugated shape along the belt length, and are formed from a second material different from the first material.
ANTISTATIC COVER-CORE-ROPE
The invention refers to a rope (3) made of a textile fiber material, comprising a rope core (6) as well as a sheath (7) surrounding the rope core (6), wherein the rope (3) comprises at least one antistatic multifilament yarn (5) or antistatic monofilament that is located in the rope core (6), in the sheath (7), in an intermediate sheath (8) located between the rope core (6) and the sheath (7) and/or in a reinforcement located between the rope core (6) and the sheath (7),
wherein the antistatic monofilament or individual filaments (12) of the antistatic multifilament yarn (5) each comprise a conductive fiber core (13) sheathed with a non-conductive plastic sheath (14), and wherein the at least one antistatic multifilament yarn (5) or antistatic monofilament is twisted with a twine (16) or yarn of a different material, wherein the other material of the twine (16) or yarn mentioned is preferably UHMWPE or PES.
Knife cut resistant sleeve
Embodiments of the knife cut resistant sleeve comprise a spring enclosed by a cut resistant material. The knife cut resistant sleeve is configured to be placed onto a rope of varying sizes and protect the rope from sharp objects. Embodiments of the knife cut resistant sleeve use cut resistant material and can be capable of rotation when hit by a knife in order to prevent the rope from being cut. The sleeve is configured to provide the correct amount of coverage on the rope depending on the length of the rope.
Distributed Control System for Thermal Snow Melt and Freeze Protection Systems
A snow and ice melt system having one or more zones, each including one or more heaters, and having one or more controllers configured to use a power output of each heater and an average temperature of each zone to determine operational control of each heater to achieve a specified result. Hydronic or resistive heaters could be used. The controllers may be configured to use a system temperature response over time to determine if a phase change of the snow or ice is occurring. The phase change might indicate that snow or ice is present on a zone and is melting. Use of a first derivative of the system temperature response over time might determine a percentage of a zone covered by snow or ice. Use of a second derivative of the system temperature response over time might determine whether melting is complete.
Thermal Snow and Ice Prevention System for Bridge Cables
Ice mitigation for bridge cables is provided by a system having a plurality of heaters on one or more bridge cables, extending parallel to a longitudinal axis thereof, arranged in a plurality of heater sections, and configured to heat an outer surface of the bridge cables, and a control system including one or more controllers configured to individually activate and regulate heating output of the heater sections to prevent snow or ice from falling from the bridge cables. The heater sections can be arranged radially, about a circumference of the bridge cables, and/or axially, end to end along a length of the bridge cables, so that power can be individually directed to the heater sections to account for differing heating requirements at different radial and/or axial aspects of the bridge cables.
CABLE AND MEDICAL HOLLOW TUBE
A cable includes a sheath, and a coating film covering a circumference of the sheath. The coating film adheres to the sheath. The static friction coefficient of a surface of the coating film is smaller than the static friction coefficient of a surface of the sheath. The adhesion strength between the sheath and the coating film is 0.30 MPa or more.
HYBRID PIPE FOR STAY CABLE AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD
The present invention relates to a hybrid pipe (1) for stay cable, comprising a tubular shaped wall (15), the wall having an internal face (18) and an external face (19). The hybrid pipe (1) further comprises at least one reinforcing element (12, 22), the reinforcing element (12, 22) being provided at the wall (15) to form the hybrid pipe (1) such that the hybrid pipe (1) has a higher mechanical properties/resistance such as higher buckling resistance, higher tensile strength and/or a lower thermal dilatation than the wall (15) itself. The present invention also relates to a cable-stayed system comprising such a hybrid pipe (1) and a method of manufacturing such a hybrid pipe (1).
ROPE AND ELEVATOR USING SAME
Provided is a rope including a load supporting member and a covering member covering an outer periphery of the load supporting member. The load supporting member includes: an impregnation material and reinforcement fiber bodies, which continuously extend in a longitudinal direction of the rope, are embedded in the impregnation material, and are configured to support a load acting in the longitudinal direction. The reinforcement fiber bodies include corrugated reinforcement fiber bodies which have, at least in part, a corrugated shape in a section parallel to the longitudinal direction. The corrugated reinforcement fiber bodies have such a length that a total length thereof given when the corrugated reinforcement fiber bodies are straightened is equal to or larger than 1.1 times a total length of the load supporting member.
Cables made of phase change material
Disclosed is a cable comprising a core and a PCM layer surrounding the core wherein the PCM layer consists of a PCM composition wherein the PCM composition comprises a PCM and an ethylene copolymer; and the core consists of a yarn, strand, or wire each made of a natural or synthetic polymeric material or a metal. The invention is useful for thermal management in a variety of applications in such as, for example, automotive, building, packaging, garments, and footwear.
DOUBLE-SHEATHED STRUCTURAL CABLE
The structural cable (10) comprises a bundle of load-bearing tendons (15) extending between upper and lower anchoring devices, a first sheath (20) containing the bundle of tendons, and a second sheath (22) arranged around the first sheath, with a gap between the first and second sheaths.
