Rope assembly
The present invention relates to a rope assembly (1) consisting of at least one rope (2) that is made of textile fibre material and is folded back to form two substantially parallel rope portions (2, 2), wherein load distribution between the two rope portions is enabled and the rope portions are surrounded by a common sleeve (4). The rope assembly according to the invention is particularly suitable as a winch rope or as a rope for drive pulley drives, e.g., as a lift cable, in Koepe hoists and in capstans.
Colored suture construction
A suture made of a woven braid of fibers is provided. The suture includes: at least one first end; at least one second end comprising a colorable material wherein the second end has been colored a single color along an entire length of the second end; and at least one third end comprising a colorable material wherein only a portion of the third end is colored a continuous color. In another embodiment, a method of manufacture of a suture is provided. The method includes: braiding an elongate suture from a first end, a second end comprising a colorable material, and a third end comprising a colorable material; coloring the second end a single first color along an entire length of the second end; coloring only a first portion of the third end a second color.
TIE DOWN RATCHET AND STRAP
A tie down ratchet and strap includes, a ratchet shaft rotatably mounted in a ratchet body having a slot for receiving a wind-up strap therethough, a pair of ratchet wheels mounted on the ratchet shaft, a ratchet handle with a pawl engaging the ratchet wheels to rotate the ratchet shaft, a locking bar securing the ratchet wheels and ratchet shaft in position when the pawl is disengaged from the ratchet wheels, an anchor strap with a connector for securing the ratchet assembly to a first anchor point, and a wind-up strap including a non-metallic fabric strap with a braided metal outer cover extending continuously over the length of the non-metallic fabric strap.
ANTISTATIC COVER-CORE-ROPE
The invention refers to a rope (3) made of a textile fiber material, comprising a rope core (6) as well as a sheath (7) surrounding the rope core (6), wherein the rope (3) comprises at least one antistatic multifilament yarn (5) or antistatic monofilament that is located in the rope core (6), in the sheath (7), in an intermediate sheath (8) located between the rope core (6) and the sheath (7) and/or in a reinforcement located between the rope core (6) and the sheath (7),
wherein the antistatic monofilament or individual filaments (12) of the antistatic multifilament yarn (5) each comprise a conductive fiber core (13) sheathed with a non-conductive plastic sheath (14), and wherein the at least one antistatic multifilament yarn (5) or antistatic monofilament is twisted with a twine (16) or yarn of a different material, wherein the other material of the twine (16) or yarn mentioned is preferably UHMWPE or PES.
Braided Jackets with Low Thickness
Disclosed herein are methods for producing core-sheath structures by shaping at least one filament bundle containing a plurality of filaments to form at least one shaped strand of filaments, and braiding a plurality of strands, including the at least one shaped strand of filaments, over a core to form the core-sheath structure containing a braided sheath of the strands surrounding the core, wherein the shaped strand of filaments is an untwisted strand having a twist level of less than 1 turn per meter, a cross-sectional aspect ratio of the shaped strand of filaments is at least 3:1, as measured in the braided sheath, a thickness of at least a portion of the braided sheath ranges from about 10 to about 200 m, and the braided sheath comprises a synthetic fiber having a tensile strength of greater than 12 cN/dtex. Also disclosed herein are core-sheath structures formed by such methods.
REINFORCEMENT WIRE
A composite wire has a thermoplastic core component and a sheath. The sheath includes at least two groups of reinforcement threads wrapped around the core component. The at least two groups of reinforcement threads form angles with the core component, with the overall sum of all angles which are essentially zero.
COVERBRAIDED ROPE FOR PELAGIC TRAWLS
A rope has a braided sheath that includes a spiraling strand having a greater pitch in comparison with a pitch exhibited by other strands of a coverbraid that encloses that rope's strength member core. The rope is useful for forming pelagic trawl mesh, and is stronger for a given amount of material, has less drag, and exhibits the same or bettered lift when towed through water at trawl mesh angles of attack. The rope also is less costly to manufacture in comparison to known helix rope constructions.
SMALL DIAMETER FIBER BRAID WITH CENTRAL CORE MEMBER
A cord comprises a braided sheath of strands having an outer surface, an inner surface, and a central hollow portion defined by the inner surface and having a volume and a core within the central hollow portion of the tubular braided sheath, such that when the cord is in a relaxed state the tubular braided sheath has a cylindrical shape and a relaxed volume of the central hollow portion wherein the core does not fill the relaxed volume of the central hollow portion of the tubular braided sheath; when the cord is in a longitudinal tensioned state, the tubular braided sheath elongates under the longitudinal tension such that a tensioned volume of at least a part of the central hollow portion of the tubular braided sheath is less than the relaxed volume; and the inner surface of the tubular braided sheath of tensioned volume contacts and cinches a surface of the core.
ADJUSTABLE SPORTS ROPE
An adjustable sports rope comprised of a hollow base rope sheath and an adjustment rope. The hollow base rope sheath is a hollow sheath with at least two openings. The adjustment rope enters into the hollow base rope sheath through one of the at least two openings and exits the base rope sheath through another of the at least two openings. The one end of the hollow base rope sheath terminates at a tie point. The end of the adjustment rope disposed furthest from the hollow base rope sheath tie point is also a tie point. By creating a tensile force between the tie point of the hollow base rope sheath and the tie point of the adjustment rope, the hollow base rope sheath will tighten on the adjustment rope, holding the adjustment rope in place.
