Insulating double-knit fabric

An improved insulating performance fabric has a double-knit body, formed with traditional, relatively smooth, outer surfaces, and an inner surface with the form of multiple fabric “bubbles” separated, e.g., by a grid pattern of intersecting grooves. An insulating, double-knit performance fabric of this disclosure may also be found in the form of a garment comprising the insulating, double knit performance fabric, or in the form of fabric article comprising the insulating, double knit performance fabric, etc.

Article of footwear incorporating a knitted component with an integral knit tongue

In one aspect, the present disclosure provides an upper for an article of footwear. The upper may include a knitted component with a knit element defining a portion of at least one of an exterior surface of the upper and an opposite interior surface of the upper, the interior surface defining a void. The knitted component may further include a tongue, where the tongue extends through a throat area of the upper, and where the tongue comprises a lateral edge and a medial edge. The knitted component may further include at least one raised element extending a height above the exterior surface of the knit element and extending a length along at least one of the lateral edge and the medial edge of the tongue, where the tongue and the at least one raised element have a common yarn.

ANISOTROPIC HEAT TRANSFER, ELECTROMAGNETIC INTERFERENCE SHIELDING COMPOSITE AND METHOD FOR PREPARATION THEREOF
20220132709 · 2022-04-28 ·

The present invention provides an anisotropic, thermal conductive, electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding composite including a plurality of aligned polymer nanofibers to form a polymer mat or scaffold having a first and second planes of orientation of the polymer nanofibers. The first plane of orientation of the polymer nanofibers has a thermal conductivity substantially the same as or similar to that of the second plane, and the thermal conductivity of the first or second plane of orientation of the polymer nanofibers is at least 2-fold of that of a third plane of orientation of the polymer nanofibers which is about 90 degrees out of the first and second planes of orientation of the polymer nanofibers, respectively, while the electrical resistance of each of the first and second planes is at least 3 orders lower than that of the third plane. A method for preparing the present composite is also provided.

INSULATING DOUBLE-KNIT FABRIC

An insulating, double-knit fabric containing a first knit layer and a second knit layer coupled with the first knit layer through a plurality of first direction spaced apart rows in a first direction forming a plurality of air pockets in a grid pattern. The fabric also contains a plurality of intermediate fiber regions positioned in the plurality of air pockets, where each of the intermediate fiber regions contain a plurality of rows of multi-filament fibers extending parallel to at least one of the first and second knit layers.

Insulating double-knit fabric

The invention related to an insulating, double-knit fabric having a width and a length and comprising a first knit layer and a second knit layer coupled with the first knit layer forming a plurality of rows of lofted fibers separated by rows of air spaces. The air spaces extend along the length of the insulating, double-knit fabric for the entire length of the fabric and the lofted fibers extend in a direction having an orthogonal component with respect to the at least one of the first knit layer and the second knit layer.

Illuminated garment

An illuminated garment includes a base layer having knitted looped threads that hold in position a plurality of optical fibers. The optical fibers are laid into the base layer during the same knitting cycle as the base layer and are configured to emit light through the respective sides of the optical fibers and along the length of each optical fiber in response to receiving light from a light source through at least one end of the respective optical fibers.

Layered yarn and weighted blanket for deep pressure therapy
11806480 · 2023-11-07 · ·

Disclosed is a weighted material that is configured to effectuate deep pressure therapy to a person when the weighted material is used as a blanket over the person's body. A length of layered yarn is interlooped to form the weighted material. The layered yarn includes an outer tube extending longitudinally from a first end to a second end. The outer tube defines a conduit extending longitudinally therethrough from the first end to the second end. A fiber material is disposed within the conduit and extend longitudinally from the first end to the second end. The interlooped length of yarn, by itself, is configured and sufficiently weighted to effectuate deep pressure therapy to a person when the blanket lies over the person's body. Various other systems and methods are also disclosed.

INSULATING DOUBLE-KNIT FABRIC

An insulating, double-knit fabric containing a first knit layer and a second knit layer coupled with the first knit layer through a plurality of first direction spaced apart rows in a first direction and a plurality of second direction spaced apart rows in a second direction which is perpendicular to the first direction forming a plurality of air pockets in a grid pattern. The fabric also contains a plurality of intermediate fiber regions positioned in the plurality of air pockets, where each of the intermediate fiber regions contains a plurality of rows of multi-filament fibers extending parallel to at least one of the first and second knit layers. The first knit layer and the second knit layer comprise a plurality of flame resistant fibers, a plurality of cellulosic fibers, and a plurality of modacrylic fibers blended together.
