Systems for aspirating thrombus during neurosurgical procedures
An aspiration system includes a pump and a control system in communication with the pump. The control system includes a microcontroller, an antenna configured to receive a signal, and a pump control board in communication with the microcontroller. The antenna is in communication with the microcontroller. Upon receiving the signal, the pump control board operates the pump to create negative pressure according to the signal.
Transluminal stents and related methods
Transluminal stents are disclosed herein. In some embodiments stents within the scope of this disclosure may comprise a first flared end and second flared end. In some embodiments, a profile of each of the first flared end and the second flared end may circumscribe a portion of separate elliptical arcs. In some embodiments, the stents are formed from braided or woven wires having a constant pitch along a middle region and continuously varying pitches along the first flared end and the second flared end. Methods of manufacturing stents are disclosed herein. Methods of using stents are also disclosed herein.
POLYMER FIBERS WITH SHEAR-THICKENING LIQUID CORES
Disclosed is a fiber having a solid sheath and a liquid core. The liquid core has shear-thickening viscosity. Also disclosed is a method of electrospinning the fiber. The fiber may be useful for mechanical and sound damping.
BRAIDED MEDICAL DEVICES
A braided vaso-occlusive member formed out of first plurality of filaments interwoven with a second plurality of filaments, wherein filaments of the first plurality are helically wound in a first rotational direction along an elongate axis of the braided member, and filaments of the second plurality are wound in a second rotational direction opposite the first rotational direction, such that filaments of the first plurality cross over and/or under filaments of the second plurality at each of a plurality cross-over locations axially spaced along the elongate axis of the braided member, wherein at each cross-over location, the filaments of the first plurality cross over at least two consecutive filaments of the second plurality, then cross under only a single filament of the second plurality, and then cross over at least two additional consecutive filaments of the second plurality.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A DRY PREFORM PRODUCED BY KNITTING, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A PRODUCT MADE OF COMPOSITE MATERIALS FROM SAID PREFORM
A method for producing a transformable dry preform, in particular for the creation of a product made of composite materials, includes the sequence of the following steps: simultaneous weft/wale knitting of at least one stitch thread and at least one unidirectional reinforcement thread, at least one stitch thread including a material, the nature of which being different to that of a material comprised in at least one unidirectional reinforcement thread, at least one of the materials being thermoplastic and having a melting point lower than the melting point of at least one other material, referred to as reinforcement material; and creating of a three-dimensional knit that constitutes a dry preform in the shape of the product that is to be obtained. Additionally, a product made of composite materials can be produced using the dry preform created by the method.
KNITTED COMPRESSION ARTICLE
A knitted compression article with tubular or pocketlike receiving members for receiving at least one finger or toe of a wearer of the compression article, with a spacer element being disposed at least between two adjacent receiving members. Putting on such garment parts can be made easier and the fabrication of such garment parts can be simplified and, in particular, can be carried out in a single continuous knitting process without the need for subsequent sewing steps by providing that each receiving member has a front ply and a back ply and that the front ply and the back ply are seamlessly knitted to each other so as to create a tubular or pocketlike receiving member, with the spacer element or each spacer element being formed by connecting the front ply and the back ply to each other by a machine knitting technique.
Seamless knit enclosure for headphones
A seamless knit enclosure for a headphone unit is provided. The seamless knit enclosure may include a pair of earpieces and a headband spanning therebetween. The seamless knit enclosure may include a first region and a second region. The first region may have a stitch construction that has a first elasticity. The second region may have a second stitch construction that has a second elasticity that is different than the first.
TUBULAR GARMENT
Methods of manufacturing a tubular garment using a knitting machine having a first knitting bed and a second knitting bed are disclosed. An embodiment of the method includes knitting a first fabric panel in the first knitting bed and knitting a second fabric panel in the second knitting bed. The first fabric panel and the second fabric panel being joined to define a first tubular portion of the tubular garment. The method includes temporarily transferring the first fabric panel from the first knitting bed to the second knitting bed and knitting a third fabric panel in the first knitting bed. The method includes joining the third fabric panel to the first fabric panel to define a second tubular portion of the tubular garment. The method includes disposing an electrically conductive bus through the second tubular portion for electrical communication with at least one conductive yarn integrated within the tubular garment.
Multilayer textile sleeve and method of construction thereof
A multilayer textile sleeve and method of construction thereof is provided. The sleeve includes a textile wall having opposite edges extending lengthwise along a longitudinal axis of the sleeve between opposite ends. The opposite edges are configured to overlap one another to bound a central cavity of the sleeve. The wall has an inner layer with opposite inner and outer faces and an outer layer with opposite inner and outer faces. The inner and outer layers overlap one another and are constructed of interlinked yarn. The inner and outer layers are integrally connected to one another across interlinked portions adjacent the opposite edges by yarn common to each of the inner and outer layers.
Footwear item having a simplified structure
An article of footwear includes a first envelope that extends lengthwise from a rear end to a front end, widthwise between a lateral side and a medial side, and heightwise from a bottom side to a top side, the first envelope comprising yarns linked to one another mechanically, at least a portion of the yarns comprising at least one hot-melt filament. The yarns comprising at least one hot-melt filament are distributed over the entire first envelope, and the shape of the first envelope is set by melting the yarns that comprise at least one hot-melt filament.
