COMPOSITION FOR IMPROVING SOFTNESS OF TISSUE AND/OR TOWEL PRODUCTS
A composition for improving softness of tissue and/or towel products includes lignocellulosic fibers; water; and a hydrophobic softener that includes the reaction product of: (1) at least one di- and/or poly-amine, (2) at least one chain extender having at least two carboxyl groups; and (3) at least one hydrophobic end-capper. The reaction product comprises a hydrophobic substitution of at least about 25 mole percent of the hydrophobic end-capper based on a total number of moles of active amine sites of the reaction product. In addition, a method of improving softness of tissue and/or towel products includes combining the lignocellulosic fibers, the water, and the hydrophobic softener; and creating the tissue and/or towel products.
Paper-based Electromagnetic Shielding Composite with Flame Retardant Properties and Its Preparation Method and Application
Disclosed are a paper-based electromagnetic shielding composite with flame retardant properties and its preparation method and application, belonging to the technical field of electromagnetic shielding. In the present disclosure, PI fibers are modified by polydopamine and grafted with carbon nanotubes, polyimide fiber paper is prepared by a wet papermaking technology, an in-situ synthesis method is used to enable conductive MOFs and polymer PPy to grow on the fiber paper, and finally polyimide resin is sprayed onto the paper to prepare the paper-based electromagnetic shielding composite with flame retardant properties. The method is simple in process without complex synthesis equipment, and solves the problems that polyimide fiber paper is poor in paper forming property and paper mechanical property, and carbon nanotubes are easy to agglomerate in paper and limited in addition amount in the prior art. The paper-based composite has good mechanical property, heat resistance, flame retardancy and electromagnetic shielding performance.

PAPER COATING COMPOSITION CONTAINING HIGH STARCH LEVELS
Described herein is coating starch composition comprising a starch and a plasticizer, as well as a paper coating composition comprising said coating starch composition, where the paper coating composition contains at least 2% starch, a dry solids content of at least 40%, and a viscosity of less than about 1200 cPs, as well as methods of using and making such compositions, such as, for example, in paper manufacturing processes.
Processes for producing precipitated calcium carbonate using polysaccharides
Disclosed herein are processes for producing precipitated calcium carbonate. In one embodiment, the process comprises the steps of a) providing an aqueous slurry of calcium hydroxide; b) adding a polysaccharide to the slurry of calcium hydroxide; and c) carbonating the slurry of calcium hydroxide. The polysaccharide comprises poly alpha-1,3-glucan, a poly alpha-1,3-glucan ester compound as disclosed herein, or a poly alpha-1,3-glucan ether compound as disclosed herein. The precipitated calcium carbonate produced by the process can be useful in making paper.
METHODS FOR BIOBASED DERIVATIZATION OF CELLULOSIC AND SYNTHETIC MATERIALS AND ARTICLES OBTAINED THEREFROM
The present disclosure relates generally to methods of treating cellulosic or synthetic materials to provide new and/or improved properties, such as water resistance and oil/grease resistance (also referred to as lipophobic and hydrophobic barrier properties), separately or in combination, by using bio-based coatings and/or compositions containing blends of glycerides and/or fatty acid salts, and products obtained by the methods.
METHOD FOR HYDROPHOBIZING A CELLULOSE SUBSTRATE BY UTILIZING A FATTY ACID HALIDE
The present invention relates to a method for hydrophobizing a cellulose substrate, which comprises a first side and a second side, which faces away from the first side, wherein the method comprising the steps of:—drying the cellulose substrate to a dry content above 80%, preferably above 85%;—providing a fatty acid halide in spray form; and—guiding said fatty acid halide in spray form to contact the first side of the cellulose substrate, and at least partially penetrate the cellulose substrate.
COMPOSITE WATERPROOF CORRUGATED PAPER AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
A composite waterproof corrugated paper includes a stone paper medium and at least one stone liner paper. The stone paper medium has a first fluting surface and includes at least one first body layer and at least one adhesive layer which are coextruded. The first body layer includes a first surface. The adhesive layer is disposed on the first surface. The stone liner paper includes at least one second body layer and a supplementary layer which are coextruded. The supplementary layer is disposed on the second body layer and is attached to several wave crests of the first fluting surface, so that the stone paper medium adheres to the stone liner paper via the adhesive layer. A manufacturing method of the composite waterproof corrugated paper is also provided in the present invention.
