METHOD FOR STABILISATION, HYDROPHOBATION AND ENHANCED DURABILITY TREATMENT OF RENEWABLE LIGNO-CELLULOSIC MATERIALS AND A RESULTING BIO-BASED PRODUCT
Disclosed is a method for stabilisation, hydrophobation and enhanced durability treatment of a ligno-cellulosic material. The method includes the steps of applying a cross-linking formulation including at least one cross-linking acid and at least one polyol, and hydophobation emulsion to a ligno-cellulosic material. The chemically treated material is then subjected to a temperature initiating an esterification reaction between the cross-linking acid, the hydroxyl groups of the cellulose and the polyol. Also disclosed is a bio-based material obtainable by the method.
Method of increasing paper strength
The invention provides methods and compositions for increasing the strength of a paper sheet. The method involves adding to the paper sheet an amine containing polymer. The amine containing polymer interacts with materials such as GPAM or starch to make the paper stronger in terms including tensile strength, surface strength and bulk strength.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING INSULATION PRODUCTS BASED ON MINERAL FIBRES OR ORGANIC FIBRES OF NATURAL ORIGIN
A method for manufacturing an insulation product including mineral fibers or natural organic fibers bound by an organic binder, the method including (a) applying a sizing composition to the mineral fibers or the natural organic fibers, (b) forming an assembly of the mineral fibers or the natural organic fibers, (c) heating the assembly of the mineral fibers or the natural organic fibers until the sizing composition has cured, wherein the sizing composition includes at least one lignin, which is potentially oxidized, and at least one non-polymeric polycarboxylic organic acid.
