Thickening anionic copolymer
The invention relates to a copolymer obtained by polymerisation reaction of at least three comonomers: a first anionic monomer, a second monomer comprising an olefin unsaturation, and a third monomer comprising a hydrophobic group. The invention likewise relates to the use of said copolymer as a thickening agent, in particular in aqueous suspensions of mineral particles with high solids content. The copolymer according to the invention makes it possible to improve the compromise between viscosity with high shear gradient and viscosity with low shear gradient, while also improving water retention inside the suspension.

Coating For Ink-Jet Paper And Methods Of Manufacture
Disclosed an ink jet printing paper and a coating color used in preparing the paper, and associated methods for manufacturing the paper and its coating. The coating comprises the following components as raw materials: an anionic pigment, an adhesive and a cationic polymer, wherein the adhesive comprises a silane-modified polyvinyl alcohol. In the inventive ink jet printing paper coating, the raw material cost can be relatively low, the coating color solids content can reach 50% in many embodiments, and the coating can have a good water-retaining property. It can be suitable for large-scale production. In ink jet printing, it can give clear images with high color density, and can meet demanding requirements for high speed commercial ink jet printing.
POLYPROPYLENE COATED PAPER AND PAPERBOARD
The present invention relates to paper or paperboard comprising cellulose fibers, said paper or paperboard comprising at least one coating layer formed by extrusion coating of a PP (polypropylene) resin, characterized in that the PP resin comprises at least 50% by weight of a branched PP copolymer having a density in the range of 890-910 kg/m.sup.3 (as determined according to ISO 1183), a melting temperature in the range of 155-170° C. (as determined according to ISO 11357-3), and a melt flow rate (230° C./2.16 kg) in the range of 10-15 g/10 min (as determined according to ISO 1133), and wherein the PP resin is applied to the paper or paperboard at a grammage of less than 30 g/m.sup.2.
Coating for recyclable paper
The present disclosure relates to weatherproof or moisture-resistant writable or printable paper or paper-containing substrates, which includes recyclable cellulosic sheets coated with a coating layer. Sheets are suitable for writing and printing and are prepared by impregnantly coating a cellulosic substrate. In addition, a composition used for coating paper sheets and related substrates to obtain general-purpose weatherproof sheets comprising a substrate, a polymer, a cross-linking agent and methods for producing and using the same are disclosed. The sheets resist degradation, remain legible, can be written upon when wet, and are recyclable.
