Printable compostable paperboard
A coated paperboard including a paperboard substrate having a first side and a second side, and a multilayer coating having two or more layers in contact with the first side of the paperboard substrate, the multilayer coating including a base coating in contact with the paperboard substrate, the base coating having a coat weight from 6 to 10 pounds per 3000 ft.sup.2, and a top coating forming the outermost layer of the multilayer coating, the top coating having a coat weight from 3 to 10 pounds per 3000 ft.sup.2, wherein the multilayer coating comprises binder and pigment, the binder comprising one or more synthetic polymer binders and one or more natural biodegradable binders, and wherein the coated paperboard has a caliper of at least 0.010.
Conveyor for web
The invention relates to a transport device (10) for a beginning or an end of a web, comprising at least one driver (27) for a beginning or an end of a web (1). The transport device (10) is largely guided on a horizontal plane from a front region to a rear region of a system. The transport device (10) is to be improved such that smaller quantities of impregnated decorative paper can be produced with little complexity and minimum waste. For this purpose, the driver (27) comprises a plate-shaped magnet (22) which is guided below the web (1) during the operation of the transport device (10), extends over at least the width of the web (1), and interacts with a magnetizable sheet-metal plate (23) during the operation of the transport device (10), said sheet-metal plate being movable above the web (1) from a rest position into a holding position.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR ROLL-TO-ROLL MEMBRANE MANUFACTURE
A roll-to-roll process and apparatus is disclosed for treatment of a membrane substrate. The apparatus and process processes the membrane substrate in a forward direction using one or more treatment solutions, and then processes the membrane substrate in a reverse direction using other treatment solutions. The treatment solutions used in the forward and reverse directions are preferably chosen so that the treatment sequence is the same in both directions. In this manner, the membrane substrate can accumulate reaction time by repeated processing in forward and reverse directions. t,?
