Paper Products Incorporating Surface Enhanced Pulp Fibers and Having Decoupled Wet and Dry Strengths and Methods of Making the Same
A method of making a paper product can comprise making one or more sheets at least by, for each of the sheet(s), forming a web from one or more furnishes that comprise fibers dispersed in water. The fibers of the furnish(es) can comprise a plurality of first fibers that are hardwood fibers and a plurality of second fibers that include softwood fibers and surface enhanced pulp fibers (SEPF), the SEPF having a length weighted average fiber length of at least 0.20 mm. The method can comprise at least partially dewatering the web to form the sheet. The sheet(s) can be laminated and/or embossed such that a total dry tensile strength of the paper product is less than or equal to 90% of the sum of the total dry tensile strength(s) of the sheet(s).
Tissue paper product and tissue paper product package
A moisturizing tissue product that can be packaged in the same way as a non-moisturizing tissue product. With this tissue paper product, in which a web obtained by folding and laminating in a pop-up configuration a plurality of sheets of tissue paper containing a moisturizing agent is stored in a rectangular-shaped paper box having an outlet on an upper surface thereof, the problem of the tissue paper is solved by this tissue paper product in which the number of plies is 2.
Soft high basis weight tissue
The present invention provides multi-ply creped tissue products, and in particular embodiments creped wet pressed tissue products, having substantially higher per-ply basis weights, such as from about 20 to about 30 gsm, without the negative effects often associated with higher basis weight. As such, the tissue products are generally soft and flexible, having a softness value (measured as TS7) less than about 12.0 and a Stiffness Index less than about 20. While being soft and flexible, the instant tissue products are durable enough to withstand use, such as having a GMT greater than about 600 g/3″ and a Burst Index greater than about 12.0.
Belt or fabric including polymeric layer for papermaking machine
A fabric or belt for a papermaking machine including a first layer that defines a web contacting surface and a second layer that supports the first layer. The first layer is made of extruded polymer and includes a plurality of first elements aligned in a first direction, a plurality of second elements aligned in a second direction and extending over the plurality of first elements, and a plurality of open portions defined by the plurality of first and second elements. The second layer is made of woven fabric. The first layer is bonded to the second layer so that the first layer extends only partially through the second layer and an interface formed between the first and second layers includes bonded and unbonded portions and airflow channels that extend in a plane parallel to the first and second layers.
Layered tissue comprising non-wood fibers
The present invention provides multi-layered tissue webs, and tissue products comprising the same, the multi-layered webs comprising wood fibers and non-wood cellulosic fibers where the non-wood cellulosic fibers are selectively deposited in one or more outer layers of the multi-layered web. Surprisingly disposing non-wood cellulosic fibers in the outer layers, even in relatively modest amounts, alters the machine and/or cross-machine direction properties of the resulting web, such that MD:CD tensile ratio may be reduced.
Sanitary tissue product rolls
Sanitary tissue product rolls that exhibit novel combinations of physical properties, such as Moment of Inertia, Roll Density, and optionally Roll Diameter, such that the sanitary tissue product rolls meet consumers' needs, and method for making such novel sanitary tissue product rolls and marketing such novel sanitary tissue product rolls are provided.
Papermaking fabrics having machine and cross-machine direction elements and paper products made therewith
The present invention discloses tissue products, specifically rolled paper towel products, such as one, two or three ply tissue products having a basis weight greater than about 35 gsm and a GMT greater than about 1,500 g/3″. The products have a three-dimensional surface, typically the air contacting surface, comprising substantially continuous machine direction (MD) oriented elements, discrete cross-machine direction (CD) oriented elements and discrete MD oriented valleys having valley sidewalls formed by the MD oriented elements and valley endwalls formed by the CD oriented elements. The discrete valleys generally have a length greater than about 10.0 mm. The CD oriented elements comprise a relatively small percentage of the tissue surface area, such as less than about 15 percent, yet the tissue products display good anti-nesting properties when spirally wound into rolls, such as a Roll Structure greater than about 1.75.
HIGH STRENGTH AND LOW STIFFNESS HESPERALOE TISSUE
Soft, durable and bulky tissue products comprising non-wood fibers and more particularly high yield hesperaloe pulp fibers are disclosed. The tissue products preferably comprise at least about 5 percent, by weight of the product, high yield hesperaloe pulp fiber and have relatively modest tensile strengths, such as a geometric mean tensile (GMT) greater than about 1,000 g/3″, and improved durability and cross-machine direction (CD) properties, such as a CD Stretch greater than about 10 percent. Additionally, at the foregoing tensile strengths the products are not overly stiff. For example the tissue products may have a Stiffness Index less than about 10.0.
SOFT AND STRONG TISSUE PRODUCT INCLUDING REGENERATED CELLULOSE FIBERS
The present invention provides a wet-pressed, wet-laid tissue product that is soft and durable. The tissue product includes regenerated cellulose fibers providing 25% or less of the total weight of the wet-laid tissue product. The tissue product can include a DSF value of greater than 1.22. The DSF value is defined by the equation: DSF=(Durability Value/TS7 Softness value)/number of plies of the wet-pressed, wet-laid tissue product.
SOFT AND STRONG TISSUE PRODUCT INCLUDING REGENERATED CELLULOSE FIBERS
The present invention provides a wet-laid tissue product comprising regenerated cellulose fibers that can provide 25% or less of the total weight of the wet-laid tissue product. The regenerated cellulose fibers can have a denier of less than 0.9 and a fiber length of less than 6.0 mm. The wet-laid tissue product can provide improvements in softness at a given strength.
