LOW STIFFNESS MULTI-PLY TISSUE PRODUCT
Disclosed are multi-ply tissue products, particularly creped and through-air dried tissue products, having cloth like properties, such as good drapability and durability. For example, the products generally comprise two plies and have a geometric mean slope (GM Slope) less than about 10.0 kg and a geometric mean tensile energy absorption (GM TEA) of about 15 g.Math.cm/cm.sup.2 or greater. In certain instances, the tissue products also have a low degree of stiffness, such as a Stiffness Index less than about 5.00. The tissue products may be prepared from webs manufactured by a print-crepe process that deposits a latex polymer on at least one of the outer surfaces of the tissue web.
TOWEL HAVING IMPROVED WET PERFORMANCE
The present invention provides a creped tissue web having a CD Wet/Dry ratio that meets or exceeds satisfactory levels without the excess use of a wet strength resin. The satisfactory level of CD Wet/Dry ratio is generally greater than about 0.40, more preferably greater than about 0.42 and still more preferably greater than about 0.44, such as from about 0.40 to about 0.45. The satisfactory level of CD Wet/Dry ratio is surprisingly achieved by treating the tissue making furnish with a relatively modest amount of non-wood synthetic fibers, preferably fibrillated acrylic fiber.
Methods of making soft absorbent sheets and absorbent sheets made by such methods
A method of making a fabric-creped absorbent cellulosic sheet. The method includes compactively dewatering a papermaking furnish to form a web, creping the web under pressure in a creping nip between a transfer surface and a structuring fabric, the structuring fabric including knuckles formed on warp yarns of the structuring fabric, with the knuckles being positioned along lines that are angled relative to the machine direction of the fabric. The angle of lines relative to the machine direction is between about 10° and about 30°. The method also includes drying the web to form the absorbent cellulosic sheet.
SMOOTH AND BULKY TISSUE
The present disclosure provides high bulk tissue products, as well as an apparatus and methods for manufacturing the same. The tissue products provided herein not only have high bulk, but they also have improved surface smoothness, particularly compared to tissue products of similar basis weights.
Container for fibrous wipes
Containers containing fibrous wipes that exhibit a novel combination of properties are provided.
SOFT HIGH BASIS WEIGHT TISSUE
The present invention provides multi-ply creped tissue products, and in particular embodiments creped wet pressed tissue products, having substantially higher per-ply basis weights, such as from about 20 to about 30 gsm, without the negative effects often associated with higher basis weight. As such, the tissue products are generally soft and flexible, having a softness value (measured as TS7) less than about 12.0 and a Stiffness Index less than about 20. While being soft and flexible, the instant tissue products are durable enough to withstand use, such as having a GMT greater than about 600 g/3″ and a Burst Index greater than about 12.0.
CREPED MULTI-PLY TISSUE PRODUCT
Disclosed are multi-ply tissue products comprising a non-crosslinked binder that are durable, smooth and with low levels of Slough. In certain instances the creped tissue product have a geometric mean tensile (GMT) from about 700 to about 1,500 g/3″, a basis weight from about 45 to about 60 gsm and a Slough less than about 2.00 mg, more preferably less than about 1.50 mg, such as from about 0.10 to about 2.00, such as from about 0.25 to about 1.50 mg. The inventive tissue products also have good durability, such as a Durability Index from about 10.0 to about 20.0, smooth surfaces, such as a TS750 value from about 15.0 to 40.0 and low stiffness, such as a Stiffness Index less than about 10.0.
Soft, low lint, through air dried tissue and method of forming the same
A multi-ply through air dried structured tissue having a bulk softness of less than 10 TS7 and a lint value of 5.0 or less. Each ply of the tissue has a first exterior layer that includes a wet end temporary wet strength additive in an amount of approximately 0.25 kg/ton and a wet end dry strength additive in an amount of approximately 0.25 kg/ton, an interior layer that includes a first wet end additive comprising an ionic surfactant, and a second wet end additive comprising a non-ionic surfactant, and a second exterior layer.
Absorbent paper products having unique physical strength properties
The present disclosure provides for a paper product. The paper product has: (a) from about 20% to about 90% by weight of the dry fiber basis of the paper product of a refined soft wood pulp fiber mixture, (b) pulp fibers selected from the group consisting of hard wood fibers, non-wood fibers, recycled fibers, synthetic polymer fibers, bleached eucalyptus kraft fibers, and combinations thereof; and, (c) not more than about 10% by weight moisture.
MULTI-PLY TISSUE CONTAINING LAMINATED AND NON-LAMINATED EMBOSSED AREAS
The present invention is directed to structured tissue, and in particular to a structured, multilayer tissue with embossed areas that are laminated and embossed areas that are not laminated. The embossed areas that are laminated allow the plies to hold together during use to provide utility, while the non-laminated embossed areas have higher flexibility, lower strength, and improved softness due to disruption of fiber to fiber bonding imparted during the embossing process. Use of embossments of varying depths allows adhesive to be transferred from an adhesive applicator roll to a web in contact with the patterned emboss roll only at the crests of the embossments of the highest depth before multiple plies are laminated together using a nested embossing lamination process.
