Method for producing a tubular compression item, and item thereby obtained

A tubular compression item having at least one leg part, one foot tip, one heel, one foot and one ribbed edge in the extension of the leg part delimiting an opening for introducing a foot into the item, is provided. The leg part has a height extending from the foot part up to the ribbed edge, and the leg part, the foot and the ribbed edge of the tubular compression item each comprise at least one knitting yarn. An elastic weft yarn is inserted between the stitches on the outer face and the stitches on the inner face of the leg part. The elastic weft yarn is inserted on at least 90% of the columns of stitches without forming any tuck stitch or loop stitch. The elastic weft yarn is maintained between two consecutive rows of stitches in the leg part. The foot tip and the heel each comprise at least one knitting yarn.

The compression zone includes axially extending compression ridges of variable length spaced apart from a top of the compression zone to a bottom of the compression zone. When the sock is worn, a compression force applied by the foot portion within the targeted compression zone is greater than the compression force in directly adjacent areas of said foot portion.

Advances in actuating fabrics could enable a paradigm shift in the field of smart wearables by dynamically fitting themselves to the unique topography of the human body. The present invention relates to compression garments comprising a knitted fabric, wherein the knitted fabric has three or more knitted gores in a proximal portion of the compression garment, and (i) each knitted gore extends circumferentially around 50% or more of the proximal portion; (ii) each knitted gore comprises from 1 to 10 points at which the number of courses is increased; and (iii) each knitted gore comprises from 1 to 10 points at which the number of courses is decreased.

Prosthetic liner and method for making the same

A method for making a prosthetic liner includes the steps of providing a textile sleeve, applying an uncured silicone material onto an inner surface of the textile sleeve and impregnating interstices of a high-density knit structure of the textile sleeve. The silicone material is a fast-cure silicone material arranged to reach at least 90% cross-linking faster than conventional silicone material. The silicone material is preferably limited to the inner surface of the textile sleeve, whereas the outer surface is devoid of the silicone material. The silicone defines an inner layer forming the interior surface of the liner, and the outer surface of the textile sleeve forms the exterior surface of the liner. A thickness of the liner from the interior surface of the liner to the inner surface of textile layer consists of the silicone of the inner layer.
