THERMAL BONDING OF NONWOVEN TEXTILES CONTAINING CELLULOSE ACETATE FIBERS

Nonwoven fabrics and textiles containing cellulose ester fibers particularly cellulose acetate fibers are thermally bonded. An aqueous plasticizing solution is applied to the surface of a nonwoven web and thereafter the web is thermally bonded to create a thermally bonded nonwoven textile. Alternatively, water can be applied to the dry surface of a nonwoven web containing organic plasticizer treated cellulose ester fibers to create the moistened nonwoven web and thereafter thermally bonding the moistened nonwoven web to make a thermally bonded nonwoven textile. The fabrics exhibit an increase in tensile strength and toughness greater than the individual contributions of water and plasticizer alone and greater than the additive contributions of water and plasticizer alone.

DISPERSIBLE WIPES REINFORCED WITH A BINDING AGENT

Disclosed is a wet wipe, for example, a dispersible wet wipe. The wet wipe may include a base sheet comprising short length fibers; a dispersible binding agent reinforcing the base sheet; and a wetting lotion. The dispersible binding agent may be configured to bind the fibers of the base sheet when the dispersible wiper includes liquid at an amount of at most 400 wt % from the weight of the base sheet and to disperse in excess water if the amount of the water exceeds 500 wt %.

FLAME RESISTANT FILTER APPARATUS AND METHOD

A filter pad with a dry loft between approximately 0.15 and 0.5 inches includes at least a first fiber web comprising a plurality of oleophilic fibers, wherein the oleophilic fibers: have a linear density between approximately 2 and 9 denier; have a length between approximately 1 and 4 inches; and have been uploaded with flame resistant particles.

PACKAGING FOR ANTISEPTIC WIPES AND WARMING OF PACKAGED WIPES

A wipe includes a cleansing composition disposed on a cloth. A package includes a sealed container that contains at least one wipe. The package can include one or more materials with a low moisture vapor transmission rate to attenuate evaporation of components of a wipe during storage of the package at elevated temperatures. A package can be made by disposing a container, or a material used to form a container, around at least one wipe and then sealing the container or the material with the wipe therein. A method of disinfecting skin can include opening a package, removing a wipe, and applying the wipe to skin.

FILTER MEDIA WITH FIBRILLATED FIBERS

Filter media suitable for various applications (e.g., hydraulic) and related components, systems, and methods associated therewith are described. The filter media may include a fiber web having a mixture of glass fibers and fibers that are fibrillated. The fibrillated fibers, for example, may be formed of lyocell.

Fabric having tobacco entangled with structural fibers

A smokeless tobacco product includes smokeless tobacco and structural fibers. The structural fibers forming a network in which the smokeless tobacco is entangled. The structural fibers have a composition different from the smokeless tobacco. The tobacco-entangled fabric can have an overall oven volatiles content of at least 10 weight percent. In some embodiments, the structural fibers form a nonwoven network. In some embodiments, fibrous structures of the smokeless tobacco are entangled with the structural fibers.
