Homopolypropylene And Method For Preparing The Same

A homopolypropylene has i) a molecular weight distribution of less than 2.4; ii) a melt index (measured at 230 C. under a load of 2.16 kg in accordance with ASTM D1238) of 5 to 3000 g/10 min; iii) a remaining stress ratio of 0.5% or less; and iv) a complex viscosity of 5 to 600 Pa.Math.s at an angular frequency of 1 rad/s and a complex viscosity of 5 to 300 Pa.Math.s at an angular frequency of 100 rad/s. A method for preparing the homopolyproylene is also provided. A molded article and a non-woven fabric are also provided.

Copolymer membranes, fibers, products and methods

In accordance with at least selected embodiments, the present invention is directed to novel, improved, or modified porous membranes, fibers, porous fibers, products made from such membranes, fibers or porous fibers, and/or related methods of production, use, and/or the like. In accordance with at least certain embodiments, the present invention is directed to novel, improved, or modified microporous membranes or films, fibers, microporous fibers, materials or layers made from such membranes, fibers or porous fibers, and the like for use in textile materials, garments, products, and/or textile related applications. Microporous membranes, fibers, and/or microporous fibers are made of one or more copolymers, such as block or impact copolymers, or of at least one polyolefin combined with at least one copolymer as a means of improving the hand, drape, and/or surface coefficient of friction performance properties for use in textile garments, textile materials or textile related applications.

Nonwoven Tack Cloth for Wipe Applications

A nonwoven web material that contains fibers formed by compounding at least one polymer with a tackifier is provided. The nonwoven web material can be used as a wipe or tack cloth and can exhibit a dust holding capacity of at least about 10 grams/m.sup.2 and a lint potential of less than about 5 fibers/cm.sup.2. In addition to containing a tackifier that is compounded with the polymer(s) used to form the fibers of the web, the nonwoven web material can be textured, post-bonded, apertured, or treated with elemental fluorine gas to further improve its dust holding capacity and minimize lint production. In addition, the nonwoven web material leaves minimal residue after contacting a surface.

Method of preparing a meltblown fiber web

A waved meltblown fiber web of the present invention relates to a fiber web prepared by a meltblown method and is characterized by a preparation method in which a meltblown microfiber comes in contact with collection portions having different surface velocities so as to be collected. The waved meltblown fiber web of the present invention is characterized in that: a part of meltblown microfibers reaches a low velocity collection portion so as to be horizontally layered, thereby forming a horizontal fiber layer (10); another part of the meltblown microfibers reaches a high velocity collection portion of which the surface velocity is greater that of the low velocity collection portion so as to form a serpentine vertical fiber layer (20); and the upper end of the vertical fiber layer (20) becomes entangled so as to form a wave shaped wave layer (30) forming the uppermost portion of the fiber web.
