IMPROVED MELT BLOWN ARTICLES AND METHODS TO FORM THEM
A blended polymer comprising, an amorphous thermoplastic polymer and a thermoplastic semi-crystalline polymer, each of the polymers being essentially miscible in the other and being blended at a weight ratio of amorphous polymer/semi-crystalline polymer of greater that 0.05 to about 20 forms a melt blown nonwoven fabric having essentially no defects with long fiber lengths having uniform diameters. The nonwoven fabrics when used as a filter may have greater than 95% efficiency at a pressure drop of less than 2 mm Hg even after being exposed to high temperatures (˜70° C.) for an hour or more.

NONWOVEN FABRIC AND SOLID ELECTROLYTE LOADED SHEET
The invention is a nonwoven fabric characterized by satisfying 0.25≤(L.sup.2/V)≤10, when an average fiber diameter of all fibers is L (μm) and a volume per m.sup.2 is V (cm.sup.3). The nonwoven fabric leads to a solid electrolyte-carrying sheet in which solid electrolyte particles are carried between fibers and which can achieve a good balance among thickness reduction, powder falling property of the solid electrolyte particles, and electrical conductivity.
Non-woven electret fibrous webs and methods of making same
A non-woven electret fibrous web for electrostatic adsorption and odor elimination and the preparation process thereof. In certain exemplary embodiments, the non-woven electret fibrous web includes a multiplicity of electret fibers, at least one of a plurality of photo-catalytic fibers or a plurality of multi-component fibers; and optionally, at least one of a plurality of chemically-active particulates, a plurality of carbon-based fibers, or a plurality of mono-component thermoplastic fibers. In other exemplary embodiments, carding and cross-lapping or air-laying processes are disclosed for making nonwoven fibrous webs including electret fibers and one or more of photocatalytic fibers, chemically-active particulates, multi-component fibers, mono-component thermoplastic fibers, or carbon-based fibers. In some exemplary embodiments, exemplary non-woven electret fibrous webs of the disclosure exhibit superior gas permeation characteristics, high adsorption characteristics for airborne contaminants, as well as an odor elimination function.
