A METHOD TO MAKE BICOMPONENT FIBERS AND ARTICLES COMPRISING THE SAME
20230257909 · 2023-08-17 ·

The disclosure generally relates to bicomponent fibers, and more particularly, methods to make bicomponent fibers and articles comprising them, wherein a first extruded component has a moisture level less than a second extruded component. The bicomponent fibers may comprise polyesters and are useful in articles such as carpets and fabrics.

RECYCLABLE, ASYMMETRICAL-FACED COMPOSITE NONWOVEN TEXTILE HAVING VARIED DENIER
20220136157 · 2022-05-05 ·

Aspects herein are directed to a recyclable, asymmetrical-faced composite nonwoven textile suitable for use in apparel and other articles and methods of making the same. In example aspects, the asymmetrical-faced composite nonwoven textile includes a first face formed, at least in part from a first entangled web of fibers and an opposite second face formed, at least in part from a second entangled web of fibers. When incorporated into an article of apparel, the first face forms an outer-facing surface of the article of apparel, and the second face forms an inner-facing surface of the article of apparel. The first face includes features making it suitable to form the outer-facing surface such as resistance to abrasion, and the second face includes features making it suitable to form an inner-facing surface such as a soft hand.

SUSTAINABLE NONWOVEN TEXTILE
20220136152 · 2022-05-05 ·

Aspects of the present disclosure relate to a nonwoven textile that is sustainable and that sustainably manufactured. The subject matter may be sustainable in one or more respects. For example, the nonwoven textile may be manufactured from recycled materials. In other instances, the nonwoven textile is itself recyclable to produce additional or subsequent nonwoven articles. In addition, the manufacturing processes used to make the nonwoven textile may consume less energy than other manufacturing processes.

NONWOVEN AND ABSORBENT ARTICLES CONTAINING THE SAME
20220133554 · 2022-05-05 ·

The present disclosure relates to an absorbent article comprising a liquid pervious topsheet, a liquid impervious backsheet, an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet, and an intermediate layer disposed between the topsheet and the absorbent core, wherein the intermediate layer comprises a nonwoven which comprises a plurality of apertures, absorbent fibers, and ultrafine fibers. The nonwoven comprises the ultrafine fibers of about 3% to about 35% by weight of the nonwoven, and at least most of the plurality of apertures have a hydraulic diameter in the range of about 600 μm to about 4500 μm.

Thermally and Dimensionally Stabilized Electrospun Compositions and Methods of Making Same
20230250560 · 2023-08-10 ·

Thermally stable absorbable fiber populations, i.e. fiber populations that do not undergo thermally induced crystallization, can be intermixed with thermally unstable fibers to yield a stabilizing effect without altering morphological properties of a fiber system. Via this, one may minimize thermally induced shrinkage and maintain physical properties of electrospun materials in the as-formed state.
