ENHANCED ICE PEEL RESISTANCE/NON-WOVEN MOLDABLE COMPOSITE SYSTEMS WITH ADDED SOUND ACOUSTICAL PROPERTIES
A nonwoven laminate is provided having multi-purposes. One embodiment is an A-layer having a high surface tension factor to prevent water absorption and can be used for fender liners or underbody surfaces of motor vehicles to prevent water from absorbing into the material as well as ice accumulation. The water resistant properties are the result of utilizing a newly engineered hydrophobic PET (H-PET) fiber. Another embodiment, useable alone or in combination with the A-layer is a B-layer that has hollow multi-lobe cross-sectional fibers to provide enhanced sound absorption properties. One or both layers have thermo-moldable characteristics that allow them to be shaped into a specific geometry. In this case, the low melt fibers provided in one or both layers are fused and interlock or bridge together to yield a rigid nonwoven water/ice resistant and/or sound absorbing composite.
WADDING
Wadding of the present invention is obtained by mixing 20% by mass or more and 95% by mass or less of an acrylic fiber and 5% by mass or more and 80% by mass or less of a polyester fiber, in which a down power is 140 cm.sup.3/g or more and 300 cm.sup.3/g or less, and a warmth retention property (Clo value) is 3.7 or more and 5 or less.

LEATHER-LIKE FABRIC
A leather-like fabric has a feel of natural nubuck leather and a napped feel and air permeability of suede leather, as well as high wear resistance. The leather-like fabric includes a fibrous structure including ultrafine fibers having an average monofilament fineness of 0.0001 dtex or more and 0.5 dtex or less, at least one surface of the fibrous structure being napped, the napped surface having resin layers located discontinuously, and each of the resin layers containing two or more layers.

FIBROUS MEDIA
A multi-faceted family of non-woven webs that can take the form of a filter media, an adaptable forming process and a machine capable of making the range of media are disclosed. The filter medium can have a first surface and a second surface defining a thickness. The medium can comprise a region having a gradient. Such a gradient is formed by having a medium wherein the concentration of a fiber, a property or other component varies from one surface to the next surface. The gradient region of the media can comprise the entire thickness of the medium or can comprise a region that comprises a portion of the media thickness. The media are characterized by the presence of a continuous change of the fiber concentration or property within the region.

Multi-ply dispersible nonwoven material
The invention relates to a nonwoven material having sufficient strength to be used in a pre-moistened state but also having dispersibility properties which allow the product to be flushed. The material comprises at least two nonwoven webs, at least one of which is hydroentangled. Each of the individual webs has a basis weight of 20-100 gsm. The nonwoven webs are joined together by thermal or mechanical embossing, or a combination of these.
