STITCHBONDED, WASHABLE NONWOVEN TOWELS AND METHOD FOR MAKING
A stitchbonded washable towel made from a stitchbonded fabric having a cellulosic nonwoven sheet of cellulosic fibers, and an integrated nonwoven sheet of an outer sublayer of wood pulp fibers, and an inner layer of textile fibers substantially entangled with the wood pulp fibers, and confronting the cellulosic nonwoven sheet of cellulosic fibers. The stitchbonded fabric as uses a pattern of stitching yarns that fixes the cellulosic nonwoven sheet to the integrated nonwoven sheet. A post-treatment of the stitchbonded fabric in a heated aqueous solution containing soil release polymer gathers the fabric into the towel, and provides stain and soil re-deposition resistance.

The fibers are formed into a web of binderless glass fibers or a web with a dry binder. A fiber-bound engineered material is provided that imparts an intended characteristic at an intended relative location. A fiber layer is entangled with additional fibers in a manner to create a non-uniform engineered material. The lack of uniformity of a fiber-bound engineered material may be accomplished through manipulation of the fibers and/or through fiber binding a scrim. The fiber layer binds with additional fibers through entanglement such that a mechanical connection between the entangled fibers is provided. This entanglement allows the fibers to bind without supplemental adhesives, interlacing, or connections. Variations in the fibers and/or inclusion of scrim materials prior to entanglement allows for an intended characteristic (e.g., a functional characteristic) at an intended relative location (e.g., a position determined by an article to be formed therefrom).

Various embodiments disclosed relate to an abrasive article. The abrasive article includes a nonwoven web. The non-woven web includes a first irregular major surface and an opposite second irregular major surface. The nonwoven web further includes a fiber component comprising staple fibers having a linear density ranging from about 50 denier to about 2000 denier and a crimp index value ranging from about 15% to about 60%. The nonwoven web further includes a binder dispensed on the fiber component and abrasive particles dispersed throughout the nonwoven web.

The nonwoven web further includes a binder dispensed on the fiber component and abrasive particles dispersed throughout the nonwoven web.
Wound dressing
The invention provides a wound dressing, which includes a 1 to 12 mm thick layer of absorbent non-woven fibre material between 150 and 1200 grams per square meter, which layer includes a mixture of viscose fibres and polyester fibres which more viscose than polyester, and of which the fines of the viscose is between 1.5 and 3 dtex and the fines of the polyester is between 2 and 3 dtex.
