WASHING MACHINE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME
A method of controlling a washing machine. The washing machine includes a tub configured to receive water, a drum rotatably disposed in the tub, a volute pump including (i) an impeller configured to rotate in one or more directions to pump water discharged from the tub and (ii) a pump housing that defines a volute-shaped passage configured to guide water pumped by the impeller, and a circulating water supply device configured to supply water discharged from an outlet port of the volute pump into the drum. The method includes: supplying water and detergent into the tub; and rotating the impeller of the volute pump in a first direction to discharge a first amount of water from the volute pump, the first amount of water being less than a second amount of water discharged from the volute pump based on the impeller being rotated in a second direction.
Washing machine
A washing machine comprises a cabinet, a washing drum rotatably arranged in the cabinet, wherein the washing drum is a water holding drum to accommodate washing water, a water drainage channel which discharges water from top to bottom is arranged at an inner side of a peripheral wall of the washing drum, an upper end of the water drainage channel communicates with the inside of a washing drum, and a lower end communicates with the outside of the washing drum. The water drainage channel comprises a water channel casing and at least part of a washing drum wall, and one side, facing the washing drum wall, of the water channel casing is provided with a cut-through groove, the water channel casing is fastened on the washing drum wall, and forms a water flow channel together with the washing drum wall.
Washing machine having blade for circulating wash water
A washing machine includes an inner tub assembly for accommodating laundry, a pulsator rotatably provided to an inner lower portion of the inner tub assembly, a blade installed at a lower portion of the pulsator to be rotatable independently from the pulsator, the blade being configured to pump wash water to raise the wash water to an upper end of the inner tub assembly, a drive motor for providing rotational power to the pulsator and the blade, and a power transmission unit for transmitting power of the drive motor to the pulsator and the blade, respectively. The power transmission unit includes a first planetary gear module for transmitting a rotational speed of the drive motor to the pulsator by decreasing the rotational speed, and a second planetary gear module for transmitting the rotational speed of the drive motor to the blade by decreasing the rotational speed.
IMPELLER FOR LAUNDRY APPLIANCE THAT INCORPORATES A FILTERING CAP FOR SEPARATING PARTICULATE MATTER FROM WASH FLUID WITHIN THE APPLIANCE
A washing appliance includes a drum that is rotationally operable within the tub about a vertical rotational axis. An impeller is positioned within a lower portion of the drum and is rotationally operable about the vertical rotational axis. The impeller includes a plurality of external vanes and a plurality of channel ribs that cooperate to promote a toroidal flow of wash fluid within the drum. A filtering cap is disposed on a top portion of the impeller and has a plurality of inlets that direct the toroidal flow of the wash fluid into a filtering chamber positioned within the filtering cap. The toroidal flow of the wash fluid continues through the filtering chamber and beneath an underside of the impeller, wherein the filtering chamber separates particulate matter from the toroidal flow of the wash fluid.
Washing machine having blade for circulating wash water
A washing machine includes an inner tub assembly for accommodating laundry, a pulsator rotatably provided to an inner lower portion of the inner tub assembly, a blade that is provided to a lower portion of the pulsator, that is configured to rotate independently of the pulsator, and that is configured to pump wash water to raise the wash water to an upper end of the inner tub assembly, a drive motor for providing power for rotating the pulsator and the blade, a power transmission unit transmitting the power of the drive motor to the pulsator and the blade, respectively, and a jig disposed between the pulsator and the blade and coupled with the power transmission unit. The jig is fastened to an inner bottom surface of the inner tub assembly.
Washing machine
