COOLING INFILL FOR SYNTHETIC TURF APPLICATIONS
A composition for synthetic turf infill that allows a surface of the synthetic infill to remain cool when compared to a comparative synthetic turf having an infill comprising crumbed rubber. The composition comprises a polyvinyl chloride, a plasticizer, a reflective pigment, a blowing agent, and a filler having a specific gravity greater than 2.
RESIN COMPOSITION FOR EASILY DYEABLE SYNTHETIC FIBERS, AND SYNTHETIC FIBER EASILY DYEABLE WITH ACIDIC DYE
In one or more embodiments, the present invention relates to a resin composition containing at least a polymer (A) and a polymer (B), in which the polymer (A) is a polymer that includes one or more monomers selected from the group consisting of acrylonitrile, vinyl halides, and vinylidene halides, the polymer (B) is a polymer that is soluble in benzyl alcohol, and the resin composition contains the polymer (A) in an amount of 70 parts by mass or more and 92.5 parts by mass or less, and the polymer (B) in an amount of 7.5 parts by mass or more and 30 parts by mass or less, where a total amount of the polymer (A) and the polymer (B) is 100 parts by mass. Provided are synthetic fibers that are easily dyeable with an acidic dye without requiring use of a special facility or heating to high temperatures.
WATER-REPELLENT COMPOSITION
A water-repellent composition containing (1) a polymer having 2-100 wt %, with respect to the polymer, of a repeating unit derived from an amide group-containing monomer (a) represented by the following formula

[wherein R.sup.1 is an organic moiety having an ethylenically unsaturated polymerizable group, R.sup.2 is a C.sub.7-30 hydrocarbon group, and R.sup.3 is a C.sub.1-5 hydrocarbon group], (2) a co-agent containing at least one co-agent compound selected from the group consisting of a blocked isocyanate compound, a melamine resin, a silicone polymer, a wax, an acetylene-based emulsifier, and a polyoxyalkylene group-containing emulsifier, and (3) a liquid media. Preferably, the water-repellent composition includes no fluoroalkyl group-containing monomer, and preferably no fluorine-containing monomer. Also disclosed is a method for producing the water-repellent composition, a method for treating a substrate with the water-repellent composition, and a method for producing a treated textile product which includes treating a textile product with the water-repellent composition.
WATER-REPELLENT COMPOSITION
A water-repellent composition containing (1) a polymer having 2-100 wt %, with respect to the polymer, of a repeating unit derived from an amide group-containing monomer (a) represented by the following formula

SILICONE POLYETHER POLYMER TREATMENTS FOR FIBROUS SUBSTRATES
Described is a fibrous substrate treatment composition having a) 20-99.5% by weight of a silicone polyether polymer and b) 0.5-4% by weight of a cationic surfactant or a mixture of cationic and nonionic surfactant; wherein the silicone polyether polymer has 6-100% by weight of formula (I) or (II) and 0-94% by weight of repeat units from ethylenically unsaturated comonomers;

wherein a and b are integers of 1 to 40 where a+b is an integer of at least 2; c and d are integers of 0 to 20; e is an integer of 1 to 40; X is a linear or branched C.sub.1-C.sub.4 alkylene group; R.sup.1 is a C.sub.1-C.sub.4 alkyl group; and R.sup.2 is —C(R.sup.1)═CH.sub.2 or polymer backbone unit —[C(R.sup.1)—CH.sub.2]— bonded at C(R.sup.1). Treatments exhibit improved balance of water repellency and oily stain release performance.

WATER- AND OIL-REPELLENT AGENT COMPOSITION, METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME, AND ARTICLE
Provided is a water- and oil-repellent agent composition that is capable of producing an article having a high water pressure resistance and a low water absorption rate. The water- and oil-repellent agent composition contains a fluorine-containing polymer having a unit based on a monomer (a), a unit based on a monomer (b1), a unit based on a monomer (b2), a unit based on a monomer (b3), and a unit based on a monomer (c), wherein relative to all the units that constitute the fluorine-containing polymer, the proportion of the unit based on the monomer (a) is from 70 to 80% by mass, the proportion of the combination of the unit based on the monomer (b1), the unit based on the monomer (b2) and the unit based on the monomer (b3) is from 12 to 28% by mass, and the proportion of the unit based on the monomer (c) is from 2 to 8% by mass. Monomer (a): a compound represented by (Z-Q).sub.nX. Monomer (b1): a monomer not having a polyfluoroalkyl group (R.sup.f group), but having an alkyl group of 22 carbon atoms. Monomer (b2): a monomer not having an R.sup.f group, but having an alkyl group of 20 carbon atoms. Monomer (b3): a monomer not having an R.sup.f group, but having an alkyl group of 18 carbon atoms. Monomer (c): a halogenated olefin.
Cooling infill for synthetic turf applications
Disclosed is an infill for an artificial turf field, the infill comprising: from about 40 wt. % to about 60 wt. % of a polyvinyl chloride resin; from about 5 wt. % to about 30 wt. % of a plasticizer derived from a naturally occurring source; from about 2 wt. % to about 10 wt. % of a reflective pigment; from about 0.01 wt. % to about 0.1 wt. % of a blowing agent; and from about 5 wt. % to about 30 wt. % of a filler. The infill is pelletized and maintains the temperature of an artificial turf field, when disposed throughout the artificial turf field, at a temperature about 15° F. to about 25° F. less than a temperature of a comparative artificial turf under substantially similar ambient and environmental conditions, wherein a comparative infill of the comparative artificial turf consists essentially of crumbed rubber infill.
