PHARMACEUTICAL OR COSMETIC COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING A POLYMER AND AN ABSORPTION PROMOTER FOR CONTROLLED RELEASE OF ACTIVE INGREDIENTS
Disclosed is a pharmaceutical or cosmetic composition or medical device for topical use including: a) a cosmetically or pharmaceutically active substance; b) a polyvinylcaprolactam/polyvinyl acetate/polyethylene glycol copolymer; and c) a phospholipid. Also disclosed is a method for treatment incorporating such a composition.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A CARBON FIBER RESIN TAPE AND THE CARBON FIBER RESIN TAPE
The invention aims to provide a method of manufacturing a carbon fiber resin tape capable of being adhered with a high adhesive strength without being pressurized at high pressure nor heated at high temperature. A method of manufacturing a carbon fiber resin tape F2 comprises: a first step of immersing a carbon fiber bundle F1 having several carbon fibers in reduced water having a negative oxidation-reduction potential to flatten the carbon fiber bundle; a second step of immersing the above-described carbon fiber bundle in an adhesive solution containing an adhesive S, alumina sol A, and potassium persulfate B after the above-described first step; and a third step of drying the above-described carbon fiber bundle after the above-described second step.

3D printed core-shell filament and method of 3D printing a core-shell filament
A 3D printed core-shell filament comprises an elongated core radially surrounded by an outer shell with a barrier layer in between, where the elongated core comprises a ductile polymer and the outer shell comprises a stiff polymer having a Young's modulus higher than that of the ductile polymer. A lightweight lattice structure may comprise a plurality of the 3D printed core-shell filaments deposited in layers.
Fungal textile materials and leather analogs
Textile compositions comprising at least one filamentous fungus are disclosed, as are methods for making and using such textile compositions. Embodiments of the textile compositions generally include at least one of a plasticizer, a polymer, and a crosslinker, in addition to the filamentous fungus. The disclosed textile compositions are particularly useful as analogs or substitutes for conventional textile compositions, including but not limited to leather.
FUNCTIONAL FIBROUS MATERIAL COMPRISING MICROBIAL FLAKES, METHODS OF PREPARING AND USES THEREOF
The present disclosure provides functional fibrous material comprising fibers associated with hydrogel containing micro-flakes. The present disclosure also provides a method of forming hydrogel micro-flakes having embedded therein at least one microorganism and a method of preparing functional fibrous material, both methods comprise a step of subjecting a mixture of hydrogel and microbial material to high shear forces to form micro-flakes comprising the hydrogel with at least one microorganism embedded therein. Further provided is a method of treatment of a target comprising contacting the target with the disclosed functional fibrous material as well as the micro-flakes disclosed herein.
Durable Thermoregulating Textile Structures and Methods of Manufacture
A textile structure including one or more layers of warp yarns interwoven with one or more layers of weft yarns, a durable thermoregulating coating, and a binder that chemically bonds the durable thermoregulating coating to the textile structure. The warp yarns and/or weft yarns include polyester yarns. A method for manufacturing a textile structure includes weaving one or more layers of warp yarns with one or more layers or weft yarns to form a woven textile structure, brushing the textile structure at least two times, applying a binder to the textile structure, and applying a durable thermoregulating coating to the textile structure such that the binder chemically bonds the durable thermoregulating coating to the textile structure. The method may also include heat setting and curing the textile structure to fix the durable thermoregulating coating permanently onto the textile structure.
