Embodiments of the instant disclosure relate to novel methods and compositions for treating tumors resistant to platinum-based chemotherapy. In certain embodiments, methods of treating tumors herein can include administering an effective amount of at least one ursolic acid derivative. In certain embodiments, methods of treating tumors herein can include administering an effective amount of at least one ursolic acid derivative in combination with at least one platinum-based chemotherapeutic separately or in a combination therapy. In some embodiments, methods of treating tumors disclosed herein can include screening and/or selecting a subject suitable for treatment on the basis of SENP1 tumor expression. In other embodiments, methods of treating tumors can include administering a composition disclosed herein to a subject, the composition having a combination of at least one ursolic acid derivative and at least one platinum-based chemotherapeutic.

The present application is directed to an aqueous pharmaceutical formulation comprising less than about 5% w/v sodium deoxycholate maintained at a pH sufficient to substantially inhibit precipitation of the sodium deoxycholate. Also disclosed herein, are methods for inhibiting precipitation of sodium deoxycholate in an aqueous solution comprising less than about 5% w/v of sodium deoxycholate, said method comprising maintaining pH of the solution of from at least about 8.0 to about 8.5.

TMG exhibits remarkable drug efficacy, achieving the same inhibition as P4, but at much lower doses. These hereto unknown effects of TMG on the processes of cervical ripening and uterine contraction provide a novel approach for extending pregnancy term, including reducing a likelihood of preterm and/or term labor, along with improved methods of administration. Other diseases and/or conditions may be treated with TMG, such as dysmenorrhea or luteal insufficiency for sustaining pregnancy.
