ELONGATE TENSIONING UNIT
The invention relates to an elongate tensioning unit comprising a casing which encloses an interior space, and a plurality of tensioning elements which extend in the longitudinal direction of the tensioning unit and are accommodated in the interior space of the casing. According to the invention, the casing comprises, at, at least one circumferential position, a depression which projects into the interior space and in which at least one electric functional unit, for example at least one lighting unit, and at least one connection line for the at least one electric functional unit are accommodated. Alternatively, the at least one electric functional unit can also be accommodated in an associated recess in a water-repelling element arranged on the outer surface of the casing.
HYBRID PIPE FOR STAY CABLE AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD
The present invention relates to a hybrid pipe (1) for stay cable, comprising a tubular shaped wall (15), the wall having an internal face (18) and an external face (19). The hybrid pipe (1) further comprises at least one reinforcing element (12, 22), the reinforcing element (12, 22) being provided at the wall (15) to form the hybrid pipe (1) such that the hybrid pipe (1) has a higher mechanical properties/resistance such as higher buckling resistance, higher tensile strength and/or a lower thermal dilatation than the wall (15) itself. The present invention also relates to a cable-stayed system comprising such a hybrid pipe (1) and a method of manufacturing such a hybrid pipe (1).
"Apparatus and Method for Making Composite Elevator Belt"
A pultrusion method for making a composite elevator belt includes pulling at least one load carrier strand coated with a core layer into a pultrusion die including a plurality of molding teeth and intervening spaces between the molding teeth having a profile shaped to form a desired profile of belt teeth on the core layer. The method further includes filling the intervening spaces between the molding teeth of the rotating die with resin, depositing the resin on the core layer, forming a plurality of the belt teeth on the core layer using the rotating die, pulling the core layer with formed belt teeth into a jacket extruder, and forming a jacket layer on the core layer with the formed belt teeth to complete the composite elevator belt.
DOUBLE-SHEATHED STRUCTURAL CABLE
The structural cable (10) comprises a bundle of load-bearing tendons (15) extending between upper and lower anchoring devices, a first sheath (20) containing the bundle of tendons, and a second sheath (22) arranged around the first sheath, with a gap between the first and second sheaths.
Profile Wire Conductor and A Power Cable
A profile wire conductor for an electric power cable, the profile wire conductor having a central longitudinal axis and including stranded individual profile wires arranged in concentric wire layers around the central longitudinal axis, the concentric wire layers including an inner wire layer of profile wires of a first type having a first radial cross sectional geometry, and an outermost wire layer of profile wires forming an outer surface of the profile wire conductor. At least one of the profile wires in the outermost wire layer being of a second type and having a second radial cross sectional geometry being different to the first radial cross sectional geometry, wherein the profile wires of the second type forms an indentation or protrusion in the outer surface of the profile wire conductor.
ELONGATE TENSIONING UNIT
The invention relates to an elongate tensioning unit (100) comprising a casing (102) which encloses an interior space (104), and a plurality of tensioning elements (106) which extend in the longitudinal direction (A) of the tensioning unit (100) and are accommodated in the interior space (104) of the casing (102). According to the invention, the casing (102) comprises, at at least one circumferential position, a depression (108) which projects into the interior space (104) and in which at least one electric functional unit (112), for example at least one lighting unit, and at least one connection line (114a, 114b) for the at least one electric functional unit (112) are accommodated. Alternatively, the at least one electric functional unit can also be accommodated in an associated recess in a water-repelling element arranged on the outer surface of the casing.
COVERBRAIDED ROPE FOR PELAGIC TRAWLS
A rope has a braided sheath that includes a spiraling strand having a greater pitch in comparison with a pitch exhibited by other strands of a coverbraid that encloses that rope's strength member core. The rope is useful for forming pelagic trawl mesh, and is stronger for a given amount of material, has less drag, and exhibits the same or bettered lift when towed through water at trawl mesh angles of attack. The rope also is less costly to manufacture in comparison to known helix rope constructions.
DUAL-SHEATH STRUCTURAL CABLE
A structural cable of a construction work. The structural cable comprises: a bundle of load-bearing tendons (20), a first sheath (26) containing the bundle of tendons, a second sheath (28) arranged around the first sheath, the second sheath comprising windows (31), and a plurality of light-radiating modules (46) configured to radiate light, each light-radiating module being arranged within the structural cable to radiate light through at least one window outwardly relative to the structural cable.
Device to Provide Protection of a Structural Member Against a Cutting Threat
A device to protect a structural member against a cutting threat, such as a saw blade or thermal cutting device, is provided. The device provides a substrate having a cavity disposed therein. A cutting resistant element is disposed within the cavity to impede cutting of a cutting device, such as a saw blade or thermal cutting device, into the cutting resistant element.
