Sizing method for making paper and paper prepared thereof
The present application discloses a sizing method for making paper. An alkenyl succinic anhydride (ASA) is added to a papermaking process. An aluminum salt is added in one or more process steps during the papermaking process. Preferably, the aluminum salt is an aluminum salt which can generate free aluminum ion in aqueous solution. The sizing method of the present application enhances the usage efficiency of a sizing agent and the aluminum salt, as well as provides paper having a high moisture content.
Method for producing polymer solutions
A method for producing an aqueous copolymer solution, which comprises dissolving a copolymer of (meth)acrylamide and at least 1 mol-% cationic monomers, calculated from total amount of monomers in the dissolving water having calcium hardness of at least mg/l, expressed as Ca.sup.2+, and adding acid comprising monoprotic organic acid and/or mineral acid to the dissolving water and/or the aqueous solution of the copolymer in an amount sufficient to provide the aqueous solution of the copolymer with a pH of equal to or less than 4.5. The invention also relates to uses of the obtained polymer solutions in manufacturing of paper, board or the like or in treatment of sludge or water.

TREATED PULP AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING SAME
Disclosed herein are treated pulp sheets comprising cellulose pulp fibers treated with a densifying agent and having a relatively low moisture content. In certain embodiments, the treated pulp sheets are used to produce fiberized pulp having an unexpectedly low knot content, while maintaining density and softness properties usually associated with similarly treated pulp that is fiberized at higher moisture content. Methods of making fiberized pulp from the treated pulp sheets, as well as products comprising the treated pulp sheets or fiberized pulp from the treated pulp sheets, are also provided.
Method for manufacture of paper, board or the like and use of the composition
A method for manufacture of paper, board or the like, comprising the step of dissolving a composition into aqueous solution, whereby an aqueous treatment solution is obtained for adding the obtained treatment solution to the pulp. The composition comprising a copolymer of acrylamide and at least one cationic monomer, the copolymer comprising cationic monomers at least 15 mol-%, calculated from total amount of monomers, and an ionic crosslinker agent comprising at least two carboxyl groups, wherein the equivalent ratio of carboxyl groups:cationic monomer is between 1:20 and 1:0.5.

Wrapping Paper For A Smoking Article
A wrapping paper for a smoking article includes a base paper, wherein the base paper comprises a fibrous material, a filler material, and one or more burning additives. A paper porosity of the base paper is of 10 to 60 CU. A total amount of the one or more burning additives is of 0.1 to 0.7 wt.-% based on the a dry weight of the base paper.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A CELLULOSE-FIBRE-BASED DRINKING STRAW
A method for producing cellulose-fibre-based drinking straws and a drinking straw. The method comprises: providing a cellulose material, producing at least one aqueous suspension comprising the cellulose material and adding additives to the suspension, homogenizing the aqueous suspension and pre-drying to obtain at least one water-containing non-woven web having a first side and a second side, drying the water-containing non-woven web in a plurality of drying steps to form at least one paper web having a first side and a second side, further processing the paper web or a plurality of paper webs to form a cellulose-fibre-based drinking straw.
At least the first side of the non-woven web is compressed with a line load of 80 kN/m to 500 kN/m before, during or after one of the drying steps and before the further processing to form a cellulose-fibre-based drinking straw.
