AN INTERMEDIATE LAMINATE PRODUCT, AN EXPANDED LAMINATE STRUCTURE, AND PROCESS MANUFACTURING THEREOF
20170361573 · 2017-12-21 · ·

An intermediate laminate product includes a first paper layer including lignocellulose fibres, and a dry coating layer applied to one surface of the first paper layer, the coating including expandable microspheres having an expansion temperature (T.sub.E), at least one polysaccharide, and a plasticizing additive which is capable of forming a thermoplastic blend with the polysaccharide. An expanded laminate structure includes the intermediate laminate product and a second paper layer comprising lignocellulose fibres, which is attached to the dry coating by heat lamination. A liquid packaging board includes the expanded laminate structure and a liquid barrier layer. A process for forming the expanded laminate structure includes applying a second paper layer to the coating of the intermediate product at a second temperature (T2), which is above the expansion temperature (T.sub.E) of the microspheres, whereby the microspheres expand, and at which the plasticizing additive causes plasticizing of the polysaccharide, to form a thermoplastic blend.

A PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF FLOCCULATED FILLER PARTICLES

The present invention concerns a process for the preparation of flocculated filler particles, wherein at least two aqueous suspensions of at least one filler material and at least one flocculating additive are combined.

METHOD OF PRODUCING A FILLER
20170335519 · 2017-11-23 ·

The invention discloses a method of producing a filler composition to be used in paper or board production, said method comprising providing a suspension comprising calcium hydroxide and performing carbonation of the calcium hydroxide to form precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC). The invention is characterized in that starch and/or carboxy methyl cellulose (CMC) is added to the suspension during said carbonation of calcium hydroxide. The method of the invention enables an increased filler content in paper or paperboard without substantially increasing the dusting tendency or decreasing the strength of the paper or board.

BUFFER MATERIAL AND METHOD OF PRODUCING BUFFER MATERIAL

A buffer material of the present disclosure is a buffer material including cellulose fibers, and a binding material that binds the cellulose fibers, in which the binding material contains starch and natural wax. A method of producing a buffer material of the present disclosure is a method including a defibration step of defibrating a raw material containing cellulose fibers by dry type defibration, a mixing step of mixing the cellulose fibers defibrated in the defibration step with a binding material in a gas phase to obtain a mixture, a molding step of compressing the mixture to form a sheet, and a lamination step of laminating a plurality of the sheets to form a buffer material, in which starch and natural wax are used as the binding material.

BIOPOLYMER SIZING AGENTS

METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF PAPER PRODUCTS
20230167603 · 2023-06-01 ·

A method for the production of paper products, such as paper and cardboard, by recycling cellulose-based raw materials containing starch. The method includes the steps of pulping in water cellulose-based raw materials containing starch, particularly recycled paper products, obtaining a pulped mass; adding to the pulped mass of the previous step under agitation a mineral acid in a quantity that is suitable to obtain a pH of the pulped mass not lower than 4, and obtaining a pulped mass treated with acid. The method further includes the step of subjecting the pulped mass treated with acid obtained in the second step, optionally treated with other chemical additives, in succession, to filtration, pressing and drying, and obtaining a paper product. Paper products obtainable by this method are also related.
