BINDER COMPOSITIONS FOR MAKING CROSSLINKED CELLULOSE FIBER

The present invention provides aqueous compositions for treating fluff pulp comprising (i) one or more acrylic acid polymers containing phosphinate groups and having a weight average molecular weight of from 1,000 to 6,000 and (ii) from 5 to 50 wt. %, based on the total solids weight of the aqueous compositions, of one or more polyethylene glycols, having a formula weight of from 150 to 7,000, or, preferably, from 200 to 600. The present invention also provides individualized, intrafiber crosslinked cellulosic fibers comprising the cellulosic fiber and, in cured form, the aqueous compositions, as well as methods of making the individualized, intrafiber crosslinked cellulosic fibers.

Sheet manufacturing apparatus and sheet manufacturing method

A sheet manufacturing apparatus includes a screening unit having first openings for screening a defibrated material that is defibrating-processed; a refining unit that has second openings having sizes equal to or greater than sizes of the first openings and refines the defibrated material passing through the screening unit by causing the defibrated material to pass through the second openings; and a deposition unit on which the defibrated material passing through the refining unit is deposited.

COMPOSITE MATERIALS COMPRISING CELLULOSE FILAMENTS AND FILLERS AND METHODS FOR THE PREPARATION THEREOF

The present disclosure relates to composite materials comprising a resin and at least one sheet that comprise optionally cellulose filaments (CF), fillers and optionally reinforcing fibers as well as methods for the preparation thereof. The methods comprise impregnating the sheets comprising the cellulose filaments, fillers and optionally the reinforcing fibers or a stack thereof with resin. The composite materials can optionally comprise at least one other sheet, the at least one other sheet being different from the at least one sheet and comprising fibers chosen from wood pulp, fiberglass, natural fibers and mixtures thereof. The sheet can also be in the form of a panel of a preform.

Composition and recording sheet with improved optical properties

A composition is provided, which comprises a water-soluble salt of a divalent metal; a complexing agent having an affinity for the divalent metal; and an optical brightening agent. Methods of using the composition, and recording sheets which include the composition, are also disclosed.

Online treated sealable and peelable medical paper for medical sterilization packaging

A method and apparatus for manufacturing medical paper for medical sterilization packaging, medical paper and medical sterilization packaging are disclosed. A paper web is formed of fibrous substrate comprising cellulosic fibers and optionally synthetic fibers, with opposite first and second sides. On-line with the forming of the paper web, reinforcing material is applied on the first side and pressed into structure of the paper web such that delamination resistance of the structure is increased. Sealing material is applied on the second side of the paper web on-line with the forming of the paper web.

Cellulose/polysaccharide composites

Disclosed herein are cellulose/polysaccharide composites comprising a) cellulose; and b) an enzymatically-produced polysaccharide, certain derivatives of an enzymatically-produced polysaccharide, or a mixture thereof; wherein the enzymatically-produced polysaccharide and the polysaccharide derivative are water-insoluble. The cellulose is plant-derived. The composites are useful in forming articles such as paper, packaging material, or insulating material.
