Coating For Ink-Jet Paper And Methods Of Manufacture
Disclosed an ink jet printing paper and a coating color used in preparing the paper, and associated methods for manufacturing the paper and its coating. The coating comprises the following components as raw materials: an anionic pigment, an adhesive and a cationic polymer, wherein the adhesive comprises a silane-modified polyvinyl alcohol. In the inventive ink jet printing paper coating, the raw material cost can be relatively low, the coating color solids content can reach 50% in many embodiments, and the coating can have a good water-retaining property. It can be suitable for large-scale production. In ink jet printing, it can give clear images with high color density, and can meet demanding requirements for high speed commercial ink jet printing.
COATED PAPER
An object of the present invention is to provide a coated paper that includes a coating layer containing poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyhexanoate) with few coating defects. As a solution, the present invention provides a coated paper including a coating layer containing poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyhexanoate) and an adhesive, on at least one side of a paper substrate. A solid content weight ratio of the poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyhexanoate) to the adhesive in the coating layer is 99.9/0.1 to 60.0/40.0.

Multi-Functional Barrier Coating for Molded Fiber Containers
Coating compositions are disclosed that can be applied to at least a food-facing surface of a molded fiber container to make the coated container suitable for applications involving long term storage of a dry or frozen food item combined with short term contact with the food item in a liquid or moist state. The coating compositions include carboxylated polyvinyl alcohol copolymer and a crosslinking resin that is epichlorohydrin-based and/or azetidinium-functionalized. The compositions can also include clay particles or other suitable fillers. After crosslinking and drying, the compositions form a thermoset barrier coating in which the polyvinyl alcohol is bonded to the crosslinker by a plurality of function groups including ester functional groups.

Oil/grease resistant paper products
Oil and grease resistant paper products are disclosed that include a substrate and, on at least one side of the substrate, a continuous layer of a barrier coating, the barrier coating comprising a binder system and a pigment. The barrier coating, when applied to the substrate and dried to form a barrier layer, has a Pigment Volume Concentration (PVC) that is below a Critical Pigment Volume Concentration (CPVC) of the barrier coating, providing a continuous three-dimensional film of the binder system. In some implementations the binder system comprising a latex and a natural binder and/or the paper product further includes a topcoat disposed on a side of the barrier coating opposite the substrate.
