Marked thermoplastic compositions, methods of making and articles comprising the same, and uses thereof
An article for laser marking can comprising: a thermoplastic composition comprising a thermoplastic polymer, an active component comprising at least one of a polymeric unit and an additive, wherein the thermoplastic polymer has a visible transmission of greater than or equal to 80% according to ASTM D1003-00, Procedure A, using D65 illumination, 10 degrees observer, and thickness of 1 mm; and a mark produced by chemical rearrangement of the active component generated by a laser of a first wavelength; wherein the mark exhibits at least one of: (i) a change in optical properties in the region 400 nm to 700 nm when exposed to light having a wavelength less than or equal to 500 nm; and (ii) a change in optical properties in the region of 400 nm to 700 nm when exposed to light having a wavelength greater than or equal to the first wavelength.
LAMINATE COMPRISING A WIRELESS COMMUNICATION CIRCUIT
A laminate having a wireless communication circuit embedded within the laminate, comprising a first paper layer, a second paper layer disposed above the first paper layer, an insulating layer disposed above the second paper layer, an antenna provided as a set of windings on one of the first paper layer and the second paper layer, a wireless communication circuit, an electrically conducting connector segment disposed on the other of the first paper layer and the second paper layer, the electrically conducting connector segment being in electrical contact with the antenna to define a circuit, wherein the first paper layer and the insulating layer encapsulate the wireless communication circuit within the laminate.
Printed watermark
The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a substrate with an embedded, UV-visible pattern, wherein a liquid treatment composition comprising at least one acid is deposited onto a substrate, which comprises at least one optical brightener and optionally a filler, wherein the filler comprises 0 to 60 wt.-% of a salifiable alkaline or alkaline earth compound, based on the total weight of the substrate.

Multi-luminescent security element and value or security product containing said security element
In order to increase the security of value or security documents 100, a multi-luminescent security element 400 is provided which contains at least one first luminescence means 510 and at least one second luminescence means 520. The first luminescence means 510 can be excited under first excitation conditions Sp-1 for the purpose of luminescence, and the second luminescence means 520 can be excited under second excitation conditions Sp-2 for the purpose of luminescence, said second excitation conditions Sp-2 differing from the first excitation conditions Sp-1. The multi-luminescent security element 400 is additionally equipped with at least one absorber means 600 which prevents an excitation of the at least one first luminescence means 510 under the second excitation conditions Sp-2 for the purpose of luminescence.

Method for Preparing Large-area Structural Chromogenic Pattern by Ink-jet Printing and Anti-counterfeiting Method Based on Structural Color Change
A method for preparing a large-area structural chromogenic pattern by ink-jet printing, a structural chromogenic pattern obtained by the method, and an anti-counterfeiting method based on a structural color change. A dispersion liquid containing mono-disperse colloidal microspheres with high index of refraction is is printed onto a piece of paper by using an ink-jet printer, and nano-microspheres are arranged and assembled on the paper to obtain a micro-structure having the features of being ordered from a short distance and disordered from a long distance. A pretty structural color can be observed by means of the interaction of the structure with light, thus displaying a pattern, changing the angle of observation, changing the brightness of the structural color, and hiding and displaying the pattern. The method is simple and convenient, is widely applicable, and can achieve the preparation and anti-counterfeiting of a large-area structural color without external stimulation.
