Lubricant applicator and method for lubricating a backing drum and apparatus
An illustrative lubricant applicator includes a body comprising an inner surface defining a lumen, an outer surface, and a connector fluidly connected to the lumen. The connector is configured to receive a lubricating fluid and convey the lubricating fluid to the lumen. A plurality of openings connects the lumen to the outer surface of the body. The lubricant applicator is configured for connection to a coater blade at a position such that the plurality of openings are configured to deliver the lubricant to an edge region of paper and a backing drum during coating of the paper.

BIO-BASED POLYELECTROLYTE COMPLEX COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING NON-WATER SOLUBLE PARTICLES
The present invention relates to a bio-based polyelectrolyte complex (PEC) composition suitable as a binder for fiber based materials, textiles, woven and nonwoven materials, said PEC composition comprising cationic biopolymer, anionic biopolymer, acid and preservative, and wherein the net charge of the PEC is cationic, the charge ratio of the anionic polymer and the cationic polymer is 1, the cationic biopolymer is chitosan, the anionic biopolymer is a polyanion derived from nature, the acid is a Brnsted acid and/or a Lewis acid, wherein the Brnsted acid is selected from any organic and/or inorganic acids, and wherein the Lewis acid is selected from any cationic mono- or multivalent atom, the weight ratio between cation and anion is 1:0.1 to 1:20, the weight ratio between the cation and acid is 1:0.01 to 1:30, chitosan has a degree of deacetylation being 66-100%, the pH is less than 7, and wherein said composition further comprises one or more non-water soluble particles. The present invention further relates to a method for preparing the PEC composition, uses of the PEC composition, as well as method of treating materials with the PEC composition.
OIL AND GREASE RESISTANT PAPERBOARD
A coated paperboard including a paperboard substrate having a first side and a second side, and a coating having one or more layers in contact with the first side of the paperboard substrate, the coating having a coat weight of at least 6.4 lbs per 3000 ft.sup.2 and comprising binder and pigment and containing substantially no fluorochemical or wax, wherein the coated paperboard has a 3M Kit test value of at least 5, is at least 99% repulpable, and has no tendency toward blocking.

A coated paperboard including a paperboard substrate having a first side and a second side, and a coating having one or more layers in contact with the first side of the paperboard substrate, the coating having a coat weight of at least 6.4 lbs per 3000 ft.sup.2 and comprising binder and pigment and containing substantially no fluorochemical or wax, wherein the coated paperboard has a 3M Kit test value of at least 5, is at least 99% repulpable, and has no tendency toward blocking.
MASKED COATING BLADE
In a general aspect, a coating blade for application of coating color to a fibrous web can include an elongate substrate having a longitudinal edge. Within an operating zone of the coating blade intended for contact with a coating color, the elongate substrate can include a longitudinal wear-resistant deposit adjacent to the longitudinal edge. The coating blade, within the operating zone, can also include a longitudinal masking deposit adjoining the longitudinal wear-resistant deposit.

In a general aspect, a coating blade for application of coating color to a fibrous web can include an elongate substrate having a longitudinal edge. Within an operating zone of the coating blade intended for contact with a coating color, the elongate substrate can include a longitudinal wear-resistant deposit adjacent to the longitudinal edge. The coating blade, within the operating zone, can also include a longitudinal masking deposit adjoining the longitudinal wear-resistant deposit.

A coated paperboard including a paperboard substrate having a first side and a second side, and a multilayer coating having two or more layers in contact with the first side of the paperboard substrate, the multilayer coating including a base coating in contact with the paperboard substrate, the base coating having a coat weight from 6 to 10 pounds per 3000 ft.sup.2, and a top coating forming the outermost layer of the multilayer coating, the top coating having a coat weight from 3 to 10 pounds per 3000 ft.sup.2, wherein the multilayer coating comprises binder and pigment, the binder comprising one or more synthetic polymer binders and one or more natural biodegradable binders, and wherein the coated paperboard has a caliper of at least 0.010.
Printable compostable paperboard
A coated paperboard including a paperboard substrate having a first side and a second side, and a multilayer coating having two or more layers in contact with the first side of the paperboard substrate, the multilayer coating including a base coating in contact with the paperboard substrate, the base coating having a coat weight from 6 to 10 pounds per 3000 ft.sup.2, and a top coating forming the outermost layer of the multilayer coating, the top coating having a coat weight from 3 to 10 pounds per 3000 ft.sup.2, wherein the multilayer coating comprises binder and pigment, the binder comprising one or more synthetic polymer binders and one or more natural biodegradable binders, and wherein the coated paperboard has a caliper of at least 0.010.
Textile printing paper for use in paper printing method
Provided is a textile printing paper for use in a paper printing method, the textile printing paper enabling the transfer of a high-resolution image to a printing substrate while being excellent in releasability. The textile printing paper comprises a base paper and a glue layer on a surface of the base paper, the base paper having a swelling rate of 130% by mass to 180% by mass.
