Fibrous Structures Exhibiting Improved Reopenability
Articles, such as sanitary tissue products, including fibrous structures, and more particularly articles including fibrous structures having a plurality of fibrous elements wherein the article exhibits differential cellulose content throughout the thickness of the article and methods for making same are provided.
ABSORBENT STRUCTURES WITH HIGH ABSORBENCY AND LOW BASIS WEIGHT
A through-air-dried disposable retail towel product including a laminate of at least two multi-layer plies, wherein the product has a measured Valley Volume parameter of 18 to 25 microns and a Pit Density of 16 to 25 pockets per sq. cm.
PROCESS FOR MAKING TISSUE OR TOWEL PRODUCTS COMPRISING NANOFILAMENTS
A process for making absorbent towel paper webs comprising the steps of (a) providing a papermaking furnish comprising i) from about 45% to about 90% by weight of the dry fiber basis of the tissue towel paper web of a refined softwood pulp fiber mixture comprising u.) from about 20% to about 89.9% by weight of the dry fiber basis of the absorbent towel paper web of softwood pulp fiber, wherein the softwood pulp fiber is optionally refined before being added to the mixture; v.) from about 0.05% to about 20% by weight of the dry fiber basis of the absorbent towel paper web of cellulose nanofilaments x.) from about 0.05% to about 5.0% by weight of the dry fiber basis of the absorbent towel paper web of strengthening additive, ii) from about 10% to about 55% by weight of the dry fiber basis of the absorbent towel paper web of a hardwood pulp fiber mixture; iii) optionally up to about 20% by weight of the dry fiber basis of the absorbent towel of a fibrillated manmade cellulose; and iv) optionally up to about 20% by weight of the dry fiber basis of the absorbent towel of non-wood natural fibers v) optionally up to about 20% by weight of the dry fiber basis of the absorbent towel of non-cellulosic fibers; and (b) forming a wet fibrous web from said paper making furnish; (c) drying said web until said web contains not more than about 10% by weight moisture.
High bulk tissue product
Products having improved caliper, sheet bulk and absorbency and methods for making those products are described. The method comprises producing a multi-ply product having different emboss patterns on each ply where the emboss patterns are made up of emboss elements having an aspect ratio of from about 1 to about 2.
Surgical towels with reduced lint particle generation
Absorbent surgical towels with reduced lint particle generation are provided. The surgical towels are formed from fibrous substrates containing binder material that limits lint particle generation to 5,000 or less according to INDA standard test 160.1. The binder material can limit lint particle generation to 500 or less.
Soft, absorbent sheets having high absorbency and high caliper, and methods of making soft, absorbent sheets
An absorbent cellulosic sheet made by a method that includes forming an aqueous cellulosic web on a portion of a structuring fabric in a papermaking machine, and drying the cellulosic web to form the absorbent cellulosic sheet. The portion of the structuring fabric on which the cellulosic web is formed has a planar volumetric index of at least about 26. The absorbent cellulosic sheet has a caliper of at least about 160 mils/8 sheets and a dry machine direction (MD) to cross machine direction (CD) tensile ratio of less than about 1.0.
METHOD OF CREPING A CELLULOSIC SHEET USING A MULTILAYER CREPING BELT HAVING OPENINGS TO MAKE PAPER PRODUCTS, AND PAPER PRODUCTS MADE USING A MULTILAYER CREPING BELT HAVING OPENINGS
A method of creping a cellulosic sheet and a creped web made by a creping process. The method includes preparing a nascent web from an aqueous papermaking furnish, depositing and creping the nascent web on a multilayer creping belt that includes (i) a first layer made from a polymeric material having a plurality of openings, and (ii) a second layer attached to a surface of the first layer, with the nascent web being deposited on the first layer, and applying a vacuum to the creping belt such that the nascent web is drawn into the plurality of openings, but not drawn into the second layer.
Absorbent sheet of cellulosic fibers having an upper side and a lower side with connecting regions forming a network interconnecting hollow domed regions
An absorbent sheet of cellulosic fibers that has an upper side and a lower side. A plurality of hollow domed regions projects from the upper side of the absorbent sheet. Each of the hollow domed regions is shaped such that a distance from at least one first point on an edge of a hollow domed region to a second point on an edge at an opposite side of the hollow domed region is at least about 0.5 mm. Connecting regions form a network interconnecting the hollow domed regions of the absorbent sheet. A singly-ply of the absorbent sheet has a caliper of at least about 140 mils/8 sheets.
Embossed multi-ply tissue products
The present invention provides an embossed multi-ply tissue product that is visually pleasing and has improved physical attributes. For example, the inventive multi-ply tissue products have reduced stiffness, such as a GM Flexural Rigidity less than about 600 mg*cm, improved absorbency, such as a Residual Water (WResidual) value less than about 0.15 g, and improved wet resiliency, such as a wet elastic strain ratio greater than about 32 percent.
Systems and methods for application of surface chemistry to bath tissue, facial tissue, and paper towel
A method of producing wet laid disposable bath tissue, facial tissue, and paper towel with enhanced properties through application of surface additives using a piezoelectrical apparatus or application device.
