Fibrous structure-containing articles that exhibit consumer relevant properties
Articles, such as sanitary tissue products, comprising fibrous structures, and more particularly articles comprising fibrous structures comprising a plurality of fibrous elements wherein the articles exhibit improved consumer relevant properties, for example improved bulk and absorbent properties, compared to known articles and methods for making same are provided.
CREPED FIBROUS STRUCTURES
Creped fibrous structures having pillows and knuckles, wherein the creped fibrous structures may exhibit improved knuckle properties, such as Knuckle Roughness Ra, Knuckle Roughness Rq, and Knuckle Creping Frequency and methods for making same are provided, and/or may comprise elongate knuckles comprising discrete pillows and/or elongate pillows between first and second elongate knuckles.
PAPER PRODUCTS AND PULPS WITH SURFACE ENHANCED PULP FIBERS AND INCREASED ABSORBENCY, AND METHODS OF MAKING SAME
Paper products such as tissues can be made using a furnish comprising surface enhanced pulp fibers (“SEPF”). In some embodiments, SEPF have a weighted average fiber length of at least 0.3 millimeters (mm) and an average hydrodynamic specific surface area of at least 10 square meters per gram (m.sup.2/g). In some embodiments, a furnish or a paper product can comprise at least 2% SEPF by dry weight. In some embodiments, a paper product comprising SEPF can be formed from a furnish having a freeness of 650 ml Canadian Standard Freeness (CSF) or less, optionally 600 ml CSF or less.
Multi-ply tissue product
Disclosed are non-treated, creped tissue webs, and tissue products produced therefrom, having low stiffness and surface lint. The inventive products may be produced by a print creping process adapted to dispose a non-crosslinked latex polymer on at least one of the outer surfaces of the tissue product. The non-crosslinked latex polymer creping composition does not negatively affect stiffness such that the products generally have a Stiffness Index less than about 5.0, such as from about 2.5 to about 5.0.
Facial Tissue Comprising An Interleaved Waterproofing Plastic Film.
A facial tissue product comprising a waterproofing plastic film; at least one set of at least two paper tissue plies applied to a one surface of the waterproofing plastic film, wherein the paper tissue plies of the one set are free of a water resistant additive; and at least another set of at least two paper tissue plies applied to an opposite surface of the waterproofing plastic film, wherein the paper tissue plies of the another set are free of a water resistant additive, and whereby the waterproofing plastic film is interleaved in between the one set of paper tissue plies and the another set of paper tissue plies, and whereby the waterproofing plastic film does not allow passage of fluid from the one set of the at least two paper tissue plies to the another set of the at least two paper tissue plies.
ABSORBENT STRUCTURES WITH HIGH ABSORBENCY AND LOW BASIS WEIGHT
Absorbent product including a laminate of at least two plies, wherein the absorbent product has a measured Valley Volume parameter greater than 11 microns and a Pit Density of greater than 25 pockets per sq.Math.cm.
FIBROUS STRUCTURE-CONTAINING ARTICLES THAT EXHIBIT CONSUMER RELEVANT PROPERTIES
Articles, such as sanitary tissue products, including fibrous structures, and more particularly articles including fibrous structures having a plurality of fibrous elements wherein the article exhibits differential cellulose content throughout the thickness of the article and methods for making same are provided.
FLUSHABLE WIPE AND METHOD OF FORMING THE SAME
A multi-ply flushable wipe includes a ply having first and second exterior layers and a middle layer disposed therebetween. Each of the exterior layers includes at least 50% by weight natural fibers. When foam-formed, the middle layer includes at least 25% by weight natural fibers. In embodiments, the middle layer may include at least 75% by weight natural fibers. The middle layer also includes synthetic fibers that have a length within the range of 1 mm and 20 mm. The wipe may have a length weight weighted average fiber length of less than 4 mm and a wet CD strength of greater than 20 N/m. Each ply of the wipe may be formed by wetlaying the first and second exterior layers and a foam formed middle layer to form a web, imprinting the web with a structured fabric, and drying the web. The plies are then attached using a binder.
In some embodiments, a furnish or a paper product can comprise at least 2 % SEPF by dry weight. In some embodiments, a paper product comprising SEPF can be formed from a furnish having a freeness of 650 ml Canadian Standard Freeness (CSF) or less, optionally 600 ml CSF or less.
FLUFF PULP
The present invention is directed to fluff pulp having a Kappa number in the range of from 5 to 18 and having, when in the form of a dry sheet, ISO brightness in the range of from 30 to 60% and having a specific volume in the dry defibrated state of at least 19 dm3/kg and having absorption time in the range of from 2 to 4 seconds.
