THERMAL BONDING OF NONWOVEN TEXTILES CONTAINING CELLULOSE ACETATE FIBERS

Nonwoven fabrics and textiles containing cellulose ester fibers particularly cellulose acetate fibers are thermally bonded. An aqueous plasticizing solution is applied to the surface of a nonwoven web and thereafter the web is thermally bonded to create a thermally bonded nonwoven textile. Alternatively, water can be applied to the dry surface of a nonwoven web containing organic plasticizer treated cellulose ester fibers to create the moistened nonwoven web and thereafter thermally bonding the moistened nonwoven web to make a thermally bonded nonwoven textile. The fabrics exhibit an increase in tensile strength and toughness greater than the individual contributions of water and plasticizer alone and greater than the additive contributions of water and plasticizer alone.

Fabric having tobacco entangled with structural fibers

A smokeless tobacco product includes smokeless tobacco and structural fibers. The structural fibers forming a network in which the smokeless tobacco is entangled. The structural fibers have a composition different from the smokeless tobacco. The tobacco-entangled fabric can have an overall oven volatiles content of at least 10 weight percent. In some embodiments, the structural fibers form a nonwoven network. In some embodiments, fibrous structures of the smokeless tobacco are entangled with the structural fibers.

Fiber-round engineered materials formed using element scrims

A fiber-bound engineered material is provided that imparts an intended characteristic at an intended relative location. A fiber layer is entangled with additional fibers in a manner to create a non-uniform engineered material. The lack of uniformity of a fiber-bound engineered material may be accomplished through manipulation of the fibers and/or through fiber binding a scrim. The fiber layer binds with additional fibers through entanglement such that a mechanical connection between the entangled fibers is provided. This entanglement allows the fibers to bind without supplemental adhesives, interlacing, or connections. Variations in the fibers and/or inclusion of scrim materials prior to entanglement allows for an intended characteristic (e.g., a functional characteristic) at an intended relative location (e.g., a position determined by an article to be formed therefrom).

INTERIOR TRIM SURFACE MATERIAL
20200199810 · 2020-06-25 · ·

The object of the present invention is to provide an interior trim surface material with a more excellent texture. The interior trim surface material of the present invention comprises a print layer on at least one main surface of a fiber aggregate, and has a main surface (a main surface on which the print layer is exposed in the interior trim surface material) with a surface roughness (SMD) of less than 2.71 m and an average frictional coefficient (MIU) of more than 0.27. When these conditions are satisfied, it is possible to provide an interior trim surface material that has an excellent texture, such as a feeling of high moistness, while still imparting a sensation that feels smooth and fine texture. Further, the interior trim surface material of the present invention comprises a print layer containing hollow particles having an average particle size of 106 m or less, whereby a feeling of resistance or sliminess is imparted, thereby achieving an interior trim surface material with a more excellent texture, such as a feeling of high moistness.
