ABSORBENT PAPER PRODUCTS HAVING UNIQUE PHYSICAL STRENGTH PROPERTIES
A differential density absorbent towel paper product comprising at least one absorbent towel paper web is disclosed. The absorbent towel paper web has: (a) from about 20% to about 90% by weight of the dry fiber basis of the absorbent towel paper web of a refined soft wood pulp fiber mixture, (b) pulp fibers selected from the group consisting of hard wood fibers, non-wood fibers, recycled fibers, synthetic polymer fibers, bleached eucalyptus kraft fibers, and combinations thereof and, (c) not more than about 10% by weight moisture. The refined soft wood pulp fiber mixture has: i) from about 18.5% to about 88.5% by weight of soft wood pulp fiber; ii) from about 0.25% to about 5.0% by of cationic strengthening polymer; and, iii) from about 0.05% to about 20% by weight of cellulose nano-filaments.
A LIGHT WEIGHT LINERBOARD FOR CORRUGATED BOARD
The invention relates to a lightweight linerboard for corrugated board with good strength properties and which reduces problems with washboarding in the thereof produced corrugated board. The linerboard of the invention comprises at least one ply comprising 20-80 wt % CTMP from wood fibers and 20-80 wt % chemical pulp, all percentages calculated on the total fiber weight of said first ply, wherein the CTMP exhibits a bulk of at least 2.5 cm.sup.3/g.
A LIGHT WEIGHT LINERBOARD FOR CORRUGATED BOARD
The invention relates to a lightweight linerboard for corrugated board with good strength properties and which reduces problems with washboarding in the thereof produced corrugated board. The linerboard of the invention comprises at least one ply comprising 20-80 wt % CTMP from wood fibers and 20-80 wt % chemical pulp, all percentages calculated on the total fiber weight of said first ply, wherein the CTMP exhibits a bulk of at least 2.5 cm.sup.3/g.
Glyoxylated polyacrylamide polymer composition, its use and method for increasing the strength properties of paper, board or the like
A cationic glyoxylated polyacrylamide polymer composition having improved storage stability for use in manufacture of paper, board or the like, which aqueous composition includes a glyoxylated polyacrylamide polymer having a cationic charge density in a range of 0.8-1.8 meq/g of dry polymer in dry content of 5-15% and a buffering acid. The aqueous composition has pH in a range of 2.2-4.0 and a viscosity of less than 80 mPas measured at 25° C. by using a Brookfield viscometer after 30 days storage at 35° C. or after 60 days storage at 23° C.
PLY OF A LINERBOARD AND A LIGHT WEIGHT LINERBOARD FOR CORRUGATED BOARD
The invention relates to a ply of a linerboard for corrugated board, which ply exhibits high strength properties and which enables the production of lightweight linerboards. The ply of the invention comprises 20-80 wt % CTMP from wood fibers and 80-20 wt % chemical pulp, calculated on the total fiber weight of said ply and strength additives chosen from the group of microfibrillated cellulose (MFC), anionic or cationic polymers and starchor combinations thereof. The ply exhibits a geometric SCT index of above 22 Nm/g and a density of below 680 kg/m.sup.3, preferably of below 650 kg/m.sup.3.
Process for making paper, paperboard or the like
An improved process for making paper or paper board is provided. The process comprises providing a cellulosic fibre suspension comprising recycled fibre material, and having a conductivity of at least 1.5 mS/cm; and adding a glyoxalated copolymer of acrylamide and cationic monomers and inorganic siliceous microparticles to the fibre suspension, sequentially or simultaneously. Advantages comprise improved productivity of the process, and paper strength.
Process for making paper, paperboard or the like
An improved process for making paper or paper board is provided. The process comprises providing a cellulosic fibre suspension comprising recycled fibre material, and having a conductivity of at least 1.5 mS/cm; and adding a glyoxalated copolymer of acrylamide and cationic monomers and inorganic siliceous microparticles to the fibre suspension, sequentially or simultaneously. Advantages comprise improved productivity of the process, and paper strength.
Method for manufacturing a multi-layered paperboard, multi-layered paperboard and composition for use in multi-layered paperboard manufacturing
A method for manufacturing a multi-layered paperboard is disclosed, which includes at least two fibrous layers, in which method at least one layer of the multi-layered paperboard is treated by applying an aqueous solution of a first strength component in dissolved form including anionic strength polymer and/or amphoteric strength polymer composition on a surface of layer, and an aqueous solution of a cationic second strength component in dissolved form is added to a fibre stock from which at least one of the fibrous layers joined together is formed.
Chemical efficiency increase in papermaking process
A method of increasing chemical efficiency of chemical additives in a papermaking system includes the steps of providing thick stock pulp comprising soluble lignin, process water, and at least about 2% by weight of cellulosic fiber based on total weight of thick stock pulp, and adding at least one laccase enzyme and at least one organic polymer to the thick stock pulp to reduce the amount of soluble lignin therein. The organic polymer is chosen from cationic polymers, non-ionic polymers and combinations thereof.
