Apparatus And Components For Turnout/Crossover Section For Railway Track

A gauge spacing apparatus for positioning pot sleepers with respect to existing sleepers of a railway track has a pair of turnout rails, which are separated from one another by a desired gauge distance. The gauge spacing apparatus includes a first guide member aligned with and secured with respect to a portion of the existing rail and a second guide member angled with respect to the first guide member at a turnout angle. The second guide member is aligned with a portion of a turnout rail to allow the turnout rail to be provided with supporting pot sleepers, such that the desired gauge between the turnout rails is maintained. Also provided are a rectangular gauge spacing apparatus, a shear plate arrangement for providing supported engagement between first and second sections of rail, and a support framework for supporting a planar supporting member spanning over an existing rail.

Universal slide-plate

A universal slide-plate includes a body and a drop-in shoulder member with a plurality of retaining members that cooperate to selectively connect the universal slide-plate and a stock rail to a rail platform and/or tie. The universal slide-plate has a slide surface configured to support a moveable point rail thereon. The universal slide-plate may be selectively removed and repositioned relative to a rail platform and/or tie.

A railroad switching apparatus utilizing a tie which is positioned under rails and points used in switching railroad cars. A support is interposed the tie and the rails and points and includes a passageway to guide the first and second indicator bars which are attached to the points. A slider is also employed at the attachment point of the indicator bars to the points to accommodate the thermal expansion and contraction of the rails and points. The indicator bars are formed into a coaxial unit in order to allow simple observation of the relative movement between the first and second indicator bars to determine proper movement of the points relative to the rails.

A turnout arrangement of a slab track with a ballastless superstructure for forming a main track (1) and a branch track (2) which branches off from the main track for railway traffic has a plurality of prefabricated turnout bases (3) of untensioned reinforced concrete, a casting compound (5), which is cast and hardened between the aligned turnout bases and the ground (4), a plurality of fastening areas (6) which are rail support points (7) provided on the turnout bases for the rail fastening of the main track, the branch track, and further turnout components. The turnout bases of the turnout arrangement are elastically supported, and each turnout base is provided with a positive-locking arrangement for positively holding the turnout base horizontally with respect to the casting compound. An elastic layer (8) is provided between a projection (13) of an element of the positive-locking arrangement and the turnout base.

TURNOUT FOR A TRACK SYSTEM

A turnout for a rail vehicle track system, having a main track and branch track(s) that joins the main track. The main and branch tracks at least in regions have in each case at least two rails, wherein disposed between the sleepers and the ballast bed, on lower sides of sleepers that face the ballast bed, are in each case sleeper pads which each have at least one elastomer layer. The turnout has a turnout frog tip in which the rails of the main track pointing towards the branch track and of the branch track pointing towards the main track converge. A turnout frog region extends from the turnout frog tip in mutually opposite directions and the respective elastomer layers of the respective sleeper pads of the sleepers in the turnout frog region are softer than in regions of the turnout in front of and behind the turnout frog region.
