System and method for customizing a playing field
A customizable playing field includes a turf system comprising a tile with a turf layer. The tile overlays a subfloor, defining a reservoir thereunder. A forced air system includes a pipe disposed within the reservoir and operatively coupled to a pump; and a sensor. A control system controls the pump, and includes a processor in data communication with at least one input/output device and computer memory. The computer memory has a program with machine readable instructions that, when effected by the processor, perform the following steps: if the temperature is above a predetermined threshold as measured by the sensor, forcing a cool fluid through the pipe; and if the temperature is below a predetermined threshold as measured by the sensor, forcing a warm fluid through the pipe.
Paver adhesive and method of laying pavers
One inch paver tiles may now be set over a concrete pad for use by vehicular traffic. The method and dry concrete mix may be used to overlay concrete driveways. The paver tiles may be laid over a dry concrete mix comprising a latex polymer, Portland cement, sand and a hydration control agent. After laying the paver tiles in a field over the concrete mix in the dry state, a border of paver tiles or other material may be laid in a wet concrete mix prior to hydrating the field paver tiles. The dry concrete mix cures after hydration to form a strong layer adhering the paver tiles to the concrete pad for use by vehicular traffic.
Athletic field safety border
A border member for establishing a border around a synthetic turf field comprises: an elongated body molded from a flexible material; at least one notch formed in an upper surface of the elongated body and extending along a length of the elongated body; and a rigid spine embedded within the elongated body and extending along the length of the elongated body. The border member is positioned adjacent to the synthetic turf field such that a portion of synthetic turf of the synthetic turf field rests on the notch.
PHOTOVOLTAIC TRAFFICABLE SURFACE COMPRISING MULTILAYER LAMINATE
The invention is directed to a photovoltaic multilayer laminate, to a method for preparing a photovoltaic multilayer laminate, to a method for preparing a photovoltaic roadway, and to a photovoltaic roadway.
The photovoltaic multilayer laminate of the invention comprises multiple flexible photovoltaic foil elements laminated at least to a carrier layer comprising electrical interconnections for said flexible photovoltaic foil elements, wherein said multiple flexible photovoltaic elements are arranged transversely to the longitudinal direction of the laminate, wherein a stretchable or compressible space is provided between each pair of multiple flexible photovoltaic foil elements.
METHOD FOR INSTALLATION OF SYSTEM FOR PAVER SUPPORT
Provided is a method for providing a system for supporting a layer of paver blocks, the method including excavating drain holes at a depth corresponding to at least a length of a corresponding drain pipe, forming a base by pouring high porosity non-compactable material into each drain hole of the at least three drain holes, inserting a drain pipe into a corresponding drain hole, filling a hollow of the drain pipe with a non-compactable material, placing a water permeable closure across the top opening of the drain pipe, pouring a concrete layer above the drain hole, and depositing a sand layer above the concrete layer, with the sand layer covering the top opening.
METHODS OF FORMING AN ADHESIVE COMPOSITION FROM ASPHALT SHINGLE WASTE POWDER
Non-limiting embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a method comprising: obtaining asphalt shingle waste (ASW) and performing grinding, screening, and separating steps on the ASW. In some embodiments, granules are removed from the ASW. In some embodiments, the method transforms ASW into ASW powder. In some embodiments, the ASW powder is formed into a plurality of briquettes. In some embodiments, at least one of: the ASW powder, the plurality of briquettes, or any combination thereof is fed into a mixing process that results in an ASW powder filled coating. In some embodiments, the ASW powder is formed into an adhesive composition.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANAGEMENT AND CONTROL OF RAINWATER
An apparatus for treating water in soil-less growing systems has a container having a cross-sectional area and a height, with a first access port for liquid at an upper end, and a second access port for liquid at a lower end, and a porous matrix filling the container, the matrix comprising a hydrophilic polymer mixed with rocks and natural minerals. Water drawn from a soil-less growing system, is urged into the container through one of the liquid access ports, causes the water to flow through the matrix in the container, the water in contact with the rocks and natural minerals in the matrix, leaching elements from the matrix, and causes the water to exit the container at the other of the liquid access ports, to flow back to the soil-less growing system.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANAGEMENT AND CONTROL OF RAINWATER
A structure has a high-impact plastic polymer tile comprising interconnected individual cells, each having an outer wall of a vertical dimension forming a closed outer periphery, and a matrix filling the cells from a lowermost extremity of the walls of the cells, to level below an uppermost extremity of the internal walls of the cells, the matrix comprising material supporting plant growth. With the tile lying on a base surface, the individual cells of the tile constrain the matrix material from horizontal translation, and wherein the walls of the cells, extending above the level of the matrix in the cells, provide support for any wheeled vehicle without disturbing the matrix.
Base For Turf System
An underlayment layer is configured to support an artificial turf assembly. The underlayment layer comprises a core with a top side and a bottom side. The top side has a plurality of spaced apart, upwardly oriented projections that define channels suitable for fluid flow along the top side of the core when the underlayment layer is positioned beneath an overlying artificial turf assembly.
PAVER LOCKING APPARATUS AND METHOD
The present invention is directed to a paver edge restraint system for reducing shifting of a paver units making up a paved surface having one or more edge restraints installed along at least a portion of the periphery of the paved surface. The paver edge restraint system includes at least one peripheral edging member, at least one edging securement member for holding the at least one peripheral edging member to the ground, at least one paver retention strap that extends underneath a plurality of paver units constituting a portion of the paved surface, and at least one clamping unit mounted on the at least one peripheral edging member for securing and tightening the at least one strap to maintain the joint integrity of the plurality of paver units installed above and adjacent to the at least one strap.
