A helicopter take-off and landing pad (helipad) includes a drain conduit embedded within a surface, a bed of crushed aggregate within a portion of the surface graded to be inclined toward the drain conduit, and a plurality of pavers supported by the aggregate bed and defining a substantially level top surface to serve as a landing surface for a helicopter. The plurality of pavers are permeable to liquid on the top surface to communicate the liquid to the aggregate bed. A pump connected to the drain conduit is operable to discharge liquid directed from the aggregate bed through the drain conduit to a water separator that is operable to separate water from other liquid components of the discharged liquid. At least one collection tank is fluidly connected to the water separator to receive the other liquid components discharged by the water separator.

Rail of a drainage channel

Rails for drainage channels or manholes are known on which a cover of a channel or of a manhole can be placed. The rail has a horizontal bearing surface (10) extending in a longitudinal direction of the drainage channel or of the manhole and, substantially perpendicular to this bearing face, a rail edge (11) on the inner surface (12) of which the cover can be placed and on the outer surface (13) of which a surface covering can be applied. To increase the strength, it is proposed that the bearing surface (10) and/or the inner surface (12) and/or the outer surface (13) is/are provided with beads (20, 22, 23) over the entire length of the rail (1).

A method of manufacturing a catalytic sieve includes providing starting materials of an aggregate, a cementing agent, a sublimation agent and water. The sublimation agent (between 25% and 50% by weight of the cementing agent) is selected from molybdenum disulfide, tungsten disulfide, vanadium disulfide, copper sulfate, and combinations thereof. The aggregate contains at least 2% by weight of at least one transition metal. The method includes mixing the starting materials to achieve a mixture, placing the mixture into a form, and curing the mixture in the form to allow the mixture to become a solidified unit defined by a minimum dimension of thickness, length, width or diameter. The method further includes placing the solidified unit into a kiln, heating the kiln to 1115°−1350° C., maintaining the kiln at the temperature for between 10-60 minutes per centimeter of the minimum dimension, and removing the solidified unit from the kiln.

ARTIFICIAL LAWN EDGING
20220174891 · 2022-06-09 ·

Lawn edging comprises a segmented elongate member (11) in which segments (11A) are joined in one of its two states by plastic hinges (21) and by thinned regions or cut-outs (23), (24) of base (12) and of arcuate wall member (13). The edging is rigid in that form and can be used to edge a straight boundary between an artificial grass area and another landscape feature. Removal of cut-outs (23, 24) from the connection region between two segments disapplies the flexibility restraint they impose. The segments concerned can then be displaced one relative to the other by articulation at the hinge (21) to accommodate non-linearity such as commonly found in such boundaries. One or more than one connection region can be treated in this way depending on need.
