The present invention relates to relates to a method of producing an improved asphalt. This method includes providing an asphalt binder and providing a compound of formula (I):
##STR00001##
as described herein. The asphalt binder is mixed with the compound of formula (I) under conditions effective to produce an improved asphalt. Also disclosed are an asphalt product and a method of making asphalt material.
Automatically adjusting swing legs for mounting and aligning and reorienting crawlers
A paving machine for spreading, leveling and finishing concrete having a main frame, center module, bolsters laterally movably, and a crawler track associated with respective aft and forward ends of the bolsters. A bolster swing leg for each crawler track supports an upright jacking column. A worm gear drive permits rotational movements of the crawler track and the jacking column. A hinge bracket is interposed between each swing leg and a surface of the bolsters to enable pivotal movements of the swing leg. A length-adjustable holder engages the pivot pin on the hinge bracket and pivotally engages the swing leg. The holder permits pivotal motions of the swing leg in its length-adjustable configuration and prevents substantially any motion of the swing leg in its fixed-length configuration. A feedback loop cooperates with transducers keeping the crawler tracks position. The paving machine can be reconfigured into a narrowed transport configuration.
Screed control system
A screed control system includes a controller communicably coupled to a position sensor and at least one of a screed pressure assist system, an extendable screed height system, and a tamper system. The controller is configured to receive a signal indicative of a position of an at least one extendable screed with respect to a main screed. The controller is also configured to determine a change in the position of the at least one extendable screed with respect to the main screed. The controller is further configured to control at least one of the screed pressure assist system, the extendable screed height system, and the tamper system based, at least in part, on the determination.
Warm mix asphalt compositions as pavement surface treatment
Disclosed herein is a warm mix asphalt additive comprising (a) a wax; (b) a phosphoric ester; and (c) a fatty amine. Preferably component (a) is a fatty amide wax and component (b) is a C16-C18 alkyl phosphoric ester. Also disclosed is a warm mix asphalt binder composition comprising asphalt and a warm mix asphalt additive, and methods for its preparation thereof. Additionally disclosed is a warm mix asphalt composition comprising a warm mix asphalt binder and aggregate, and methods for its preparation thereof.
SCREED CONTROL SYSTEM
A screed control system for a screed system is provided. The screed control system includes a controller communicably coupled to a position sensor and at least one of a screed pressure assist system, an extendable screed height system, and a tamper system.
Trench filling machine
A machine for filling a trench. The machine comprises a tub, release assembly, and a hopper. The tub mixes a material to be filled into the trench. The release assembly releases the material into the hopper and the material flows from the hopper and into the trench. The machine moves parallel to the trench as the trench is being filled. A compactor assembly may follow behind the hopper and pack material into the trench. An operator controls the movement of the machine from an operator station on the machine.
PRE-MIXED PERMANENT ASPHALT DISPENSING SYSTEM
Presented herein is a system for dispensing media within a trench. The system includes a carriage having a chassis supported on one or more wheels, and a hopper supported on the carriage. The hopper is configured to receive media through an opening and output the media through an outlet. The system also includes a churning device at an inner portion of the hopper configured to agitate the media within the hopper. The media exits the hopper into a chute that is configured to deposit the media within the trench. The system can also include at least one liquid dispenser configured to dispense the liquid on the media after the media has been deposited in the trench. In certain embodiments, the system can include at least one tamp configured to compress the media into the trench after deposition of the media and the liquid.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PREPARING ASPHALT AND AGGREGATE MIXTURE
An asphalt and aggregate mixture and methods for preparing and using same are provided which utilize solid phase auto regenerative cohesion and homogenization by liquid asphalt oligopolymerization technologies. The mixtures are suitable for use in installing asphalt/concrete pavement, repairing asphalt/concrete pavement, and providing overlays to existing asphalt/concrete pavement. The slurries can contain recycled asphalt/concrete pavement subject to treatment.
Screed control system
A screed control system for a screed system includes a controller communicably coupled to a position sensor and at least one of a screed pressure assist system, an extendable screed height system, and a tamper system.
Vehicle to reclaim milled road surface aggregate for reuse as a road surface
There is provided a three vehicle train for the continuous cold in-place recycling of asphalt road surface, the train comprising a first supply vehicle containing both water and asphalt emulsion that is in fluid communication with the remaining vehicles; a second milling vehicle for removing a portion of the topmost layer of the road surface as aggregate and evacuating the aggregate via a system of conveyors to a third vehicle; and a third processing vehicle for screening the aggregate to a proper size, mixing the aggregate with cement, water, and/or asphalt emulsion under computer control into a slurry, and depositing the resulting slurry onto the previously milled asphalt road surface.
