METHOD OF PRODUCING A COMPOSITE MATERIAL USING A MIXING SYSTEM

A method produces a composite material using a mixing system. The composite material comprises at least one aggregate, e.g. rock and/or glass, and the reaction product of a two-component polymeric binder composition comprising a first component, e.g. an isocyanate component, and a second component, e.g. an isocyanate-reactive component. The mixing system includes a mixing apparatus. The method includes the step of providing the aggregate, the first component and the second component into the mixing apparatus. The method further includes the step of mixing the first and second components to produce the reaction product of the two-component polymeric binder composition, and the step of applying the reaction product of the two-component polymeric binder composition to the aggregate within the mixing apparatus to produce the composite material. The composite material can be used for forming a paved structure, such as a sidewalk or a roadway.

A dowel placement system including a fastener configured to be engageable with a form, and a radially compressible bushing coupled to the fastener and defining an adjustable outer diameter. The system further includes an elongate dowel sleeve having opposed proximal and distal end portions, and an axial opening having an inner diameter and extending into the dowel sleeve from the proximal end portion to the distal end portion. The bushing is insertable within the axial opening of the dowel sleeve, and the bushing and dowel sleeve are configured such that insertion of the bushing within the dowel sleeve causes the outer diameter of the bushing to compress and conform to the inner diameter of the dowel sleeve and to create a friction force between the bushing and the dowel sleeve to mitigate movement of the dowel sleeve relative to the bushing during formation of the concrete structure.

Road plate moving system and method

A road plate moving system and method is disclosed that makes it easier, safer, and more economical to move road plates. A frame detachably attaches to a road plate at the centre of the road plate, and the frame is detachably attached to a vehicle, and the frame is attached to rollers that straddle the road plate and are configured to move in the desired direction of travel. Each roller has a lifting mechanism to adjust the height of the frame relative to the bottom of the rollers. In use, the frame is attached to the road plate, and the road plate is lifted off the ground by the rollers lifting the frame, and the frame and road plate are pulled forward or backwards by the vehicle to move the road plate, which is then lowered to the ground. In a second embodiment, the road plate is lifted by a lifter located above the centre of the road plate.

ADJUSTABLE CONCRETE FORMS

Adjustable concrete forms including a landing form and a ramp form. The landing form includes jacks and landing brace members. The jacks are height adjustable. The landing brace members are supported by the jacks at a selected height. The landing brace members define a landing formwork configured to contain poured concrete in a desired landing shape. The ramp form defines a ramp formwork and is pivotally coupled to the landing form. The ramp form includes ramp brace members and couplers. The ramp brace members pivotally couple to the landing brace members and extend from the landing brace members towards a ramp start boundary. The couplers couple to the ramp brace members proximate the ramp start boundary and selectively couple to a structure proximate the ramp start boundary. The slope of the landing formwork and the slope of the ramp formwork are adjustable by selectively adjusting the height of the jacks.

The ground leveling form is a mechanical structure. The ground leveling form is for use in building an earthwork. The earthwork is an embankment that is often referred to as a retaining wall. The ground leveling form is a soil leveling structure that forms the footing of the retaining wall. The ground leveling form incorporates a perimeter frame, a plurality of angle plates, a plurality of anchor stakes, and a plurality of anchor guides. The plurality of anchor stakes attach to the perimeter frame. The plurality of anchor guides attach to the perimeter frame. The plurality of anchor stakes anchors the ground leveling form to the ground.

Edge slump control
12590423 · 2026-03-31 · ·

Methods and apparatus for controlling edge slump in newly formed concrete structures formed by a slip form paving machine. An edge height sensor generates an edge height signal corresponding to a height of an edge of the newly formed concrete structure to thereby detect a slumping of the edge of the newly formed concrete structure behind a slip form paver mold. A controller receives the edge height signal, determines whether any slumping of the edge of the newly formed concrete structure exceeds a set slump limit, and automatically controls an actuator assembly at least in part in response to the edge height signal to adjust the height of a lateral edge portion of a mold bottom plate relative to an interior portion of the mold bottom plate and thereby adjust the height of the edge of the newly formed concrete structure.
