SLIPFORM CONCRETE PAVING MACHINE HAVING DOWEL BAR INSERTER MECHANISM WITH CONTINUOUS FLOOR
A device for inserting dowel bars, the device having at least one floor plate, and the at least one floor plate defines a slot. One or more bar holders are provided, and the one or more bar holders are positioned above the slot defined within the at least one floor plate. The one or more bar holders are capable of holding a dowel bar, but the one or more bar holders are capable of allowing the dowel bar to move through the slot defined within the at least one floor plate when the dowel bar is pushed. The device has at least one fork movable longitudinally with respect to the at least one floor plate. Additionally, the device moves in a forward direction over a newly formed concrete slab, and the fork is capable of being lowered to push a dowel bar downward into the newly formed concrete slab.

Extended width dowel bar inserter
A paver for laying down a strip of concrete and, with a dowel bar inserter module as part of the paver, inserting dowel bars into and parallel with to the concrete strip. The dowel bar inserter module has an operational width capable of covering paved concrete strips of greater than 34 feet. In some implementations, the dowel bar inserter module has an operational width of 36 feet, 40 feet, or 50 feet.

JIMMY TWIST WRENCH WITH SHAFT AND HANDLE APPARATUS AND A METHOD OF USING SAME
The present invention relates to an adjustable wrench with shaft and turn handle apparatus and a method of using same. The invention encompasses a Jimmy Twist which is an inventive apparatus comprising an adjustable wrench at one end of a shaft, a turn handle at the opposite end, and a method of using same. The turn handle, stop, eyelet, and wrench are all adjustable, while the turn handle is capable of rotating the attached shaft. The tool can be used to screw a rod, such as, a threaded iron rod, into its desired location, such as, into a coupler. The inventive Jimmy Twist allows the easy screwing of a DBS (Dowel Bar Substitute) into a coupler. The Jimmy Twist is very quick and easy to use, and is lightweight. The Jimmy Twist also has at least one eyelet to stabilize the rod that is being screwed.

Automatically adjusting swing legs for mounting and aligning and reorienting crawlers
A paving machine including a modular frame, a plurality of swing legs pivotable relative to the frame, a jacking column secured to each swing leg, a crawler track, a slew gear drive, and angular position transducers for measuring an angular position between the swing leg and the modular frame, and an angular position of the crawler track relative to the jacking column. Feedback from the transducers facilitates maintaining position of the crawler track. The jacking column can include telescoping outer and inner tubes, a vertically oriented hydraulic actuator including a cylinder and a piston operable within the outer and inner tubes, and spaced apart axial bearings coupled to the outer tube and/or the inner tube. The slew gear drive can be secured between the inner tube and a yoke and capable of steering the crawler track under load without lifting the crawler track.

Use of spike roller on an exposed concrete surface
According to examples, a method may include pouring a fluid ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) mixture into a cavity, thereby providing a UHPC having at least one exposed surface. The method may include applying a liquid polymer onto the exposed surface of the UHPC, thereby providing a layer of liquid polymer onto the at least one exposed surface. According to examples, the method may include rolling the layer of the liquid polymer layer on the at least one exposed surface of the UHPC with a spike roller having a plurality of extended spikes. In some examples, the rolling may be applied with a predefined amount of pressure to cause the extended spikes to pierce the exposed surface of the UHPC, to incorporate the liquid polymer into the UHPC.
