Paving element having drainage channels and pavement system incorporating same

A paving element includes upper and lower surfaces and one or more drainage channels extending through the paving element between the upper and lower surfaces. The drainage channels include a substantially concave or cupule shaped upper portion, provided on the upper surface of the paving element, and a channel from the concave portion through to the lower surface of the bottom surface of the paving element. The drainage channels can be complete, when provided in the interior of the paving element, or partial, when provided along the sides or perimeter of the paving element. The partial channels are completed when the paving element is placed adjacent another paving element when forming a pavement. The drainage channels are adapted to facilitate the cleaning process of the channels.

PATIO BLOCKS AND BLOCK SYSTEMS WITH SIDE SURFACE POSITIONING AND RETAINING STRUCTURES

Securely interconnectable modules for use in constructing a pathway for traffic
10358774 · 2019-07-23 · ·

A module for use in constructing a pathway for traffic comprises a base member that defines a lateral groove disposed at its perimeter edge and extending along a first end, and a tongue structure disposed at its perimeter edge and extending along a second end. The tongue structure is received in the lateral groove and comprises a plurality of tongue portions that includes a first type of tongue portion and a second type of tongue portion disposed in alternating relation along the length of the tongue structure, to thereby define a throughpassage for receiving a securing rod. The first and second tongue portions have no vertical overlap one with the other. To form a pathway for traffic, the modules are placed in perimeter-edge to perimeter-edge relation, with the tongue structure of the modules inserted into the lateral groove of an adjacent module, and are secured together by the securing rod.

A hybrid crane/rig mat that has outer side members of first and second side beams or boards of engineered lumber, oak or other hardwoods, or bumper members of solid or filled or unfilled hollow plastic members; a core structure of a metal or thermosetting plastic frame that includes side and end members and that contains therein a plurality of longitudinal members made of wood, engineered lumber, or of plastic or elastomeric materials; and a plurality of joining rods that pass through the outer side members, the core structure and longitudinal members to attach the outer side members to the core structure. The first end of the mat includes a male member and the second end of the mat includes a female member so that a first end of one mat can be releasably interlocked with a second end of a similarly configured and adjacently positioned additional mat.

PERFORATED TACTILE WARNING DEVICE

The present invention is directed to a perforated tactile warning device comprising a tactile panel and a porous concrete slab. The tactile panel includes perforations to allow water to pass through the tactile panel and the tactile panel is secured to the porous concrete slab such that a space exists between the tactile panel and the porous concrete slab. Further, the porous concrete slab may include channels to collect water and direct water within the porous concrete slab. Further still, where the concrete slab includes channels, the concrete slab may be nonporous and may utilize drainage holes to permit water to pass through an otherwise nonporous concrete substrate.
